Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Omac myths going just fine too Steve. Like the one that was swirling here after he was dropped that he would not play again for us. Or that every goal a forward kicks is as a result of an omac error (Bruce says hi).

On omac why will selection be interesting? As i have noted already if May comes in, omac comes out. Simple.

I'm more concerned about weed than omac given we have a surfeit of defenders and bugger all forwards.

IIRC you were a big weed fan and I might be wrong but you were bullish about him becoming a gun for us. Where do you sit now with weed given his horrendous form and not holding a senior spot this year?

Oscar played again after being dropped because Steven May got injured, not on the back of form at Casey. So if it weren't for Steven May's injury, Oscar would still be in the VFL and the 'myth' would be a truth. Would it not?

I think you need to accept some truths about Oscar Binman. I understand you don't like the criticism. Maybe just say that rather than what value he offers us.

I am a Weideman fan and of course I'm disappointed in his season. However, Oscar has never played a game or even shown patches of the same quality that Sam has on occasions. He was a top 10 pick even after missing most of his 18's year due to injury. Oscar was a speculative pick in the 50's, doesn't possess any top tier traits and has below average speed, reactions, intensity and defensive skills.

It's a silly comparison.

Several posters said Omac would not play again for us. They didn't qualify their statements with 'unless May gets injured...'. So yes a myth.

I wasn't comparing Omac and Weed. I just mentioned the two in the same post.

Seemed to suggest in the presser that they might go with Petty as the key forward then go smaller. Good idea if it is going to be wet and windy. The Pies certainly will be going small.

If that's the case, unless one of our forwards makes a clear lead, can we please play Port Adelaide 'dirty ball' and keep the inside 50 entries as low as possible? If we just kick the ball in the air, the Collingwood defenders will mark everything with our small forward line.

Given the poor weather and no real back up for Grundy, surely Preuss gets dropped this week.

In - May, Stretch

Out - Preuss, O Mac

Or they could play May up forward and keep O Mac who actually didn't disgrace himself against Tom Lynch.

I see Saturday as a big day for the club. It's the last opportunity to claim a scalp and put in a performance the supporters/members can be proud of. There is literally not one win this year that we can be genuinely proud of. All wins we've either scraped over the line, played a rubbish side or a combo of both. The Freo win was probably out best for the year considering they were flying at the time and we dominated the last qtr.

I'd like them to bring in Hore, and put hunt back forward with this plan. I agree with Preuss and OMac being the omissions with Lewis being sent to Howe in a negating role. I know he can't match him in the air but if he can block his run and general intercepting marks then we can hopefully keep those 'dirty balls' in the front half.

In May, Hore and Stretch

Out Oscar, Preuss & Wagner or Dunkley

Move Salem into the centre and leave him there to develop as a mid or stick Trac in the middle and let him develop into the midfielder we hoped to get with pick 2. Hunt to a wing and JKH back to where he started as a forward pocket rover/pressure forward

Jones May Lever

Hibberd Frost Hore

Baker Salem Hunt

Trac Petty Melksham

JKH Oliver Fritta

Gawn Brayshaw Viney

Stretch Harmes Dunkley Lewis

1 ruckman and someone else nominated to play the Grigg role as Richmond did so successfully. If not stick with Preuss and omit Dunkley.

Thanks, totally forgot about Hore.

With Lever, Frost and Hore in the side could May spend a bit of time up forward as an option?

I'd still start May back, but move him forward if we get a bit of momentum. I also want to see Frost as the backup ruckman, if Petty goes in there we'll have no-one forward, plus a bit of Frost ball out of the middle could be entertaining if nothing else.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
