A quick ladder predictor says yes. We can make it with 12 wins as long as Sydney and Geelong only win 1 (Sydney can win 2 if you include the game against us).

Whilst that would be awesome Geelong will not lose to either Fremantle or Gold Coast so you wasted precious bandwidth on that predictor. ?

West Coast are looking like not much chop so far without their key players Gaff Kennedy and NicNat. We're a massive chance over there next week.

Also they don't have there home ground or the umps on there side.

If Port win today and we win the last 3 games, we will finish 2nd guaranteed.

The word "guaranteed" does not exist in a world where MFCSS already exists.

Amazing the drop off, they can barely hit a target.

Rattled upstairs after last week

Goody sighting at Adelaide Oval. He must be liking what he's seeing right now.

Goody in the crowd at Adelaide oval. A day before a big game but still committed to research on the next week I like it.

Sure it does; it's in the definition.

MFCSS n.,  "Whatever can go wrong for the Melbourne Football Club, will go wrong (guaranteed)."

My god could you imagine if thats how the ladder ended up r23. Collingwood v melbourne at the mcg week 1. Im not sure I could handle that week.

I can't see port falling out.

On another note Id love to see Richmond v hawthorn in a final not the gf obviously but just to see how the hawks match up against them again.

Its 2 weeks actually, with the break after the H&A.....that would be a hard 2 weeks

Wouldn't you love to be a senior coach.

"Hey Mahns, I need a business class flight to Adelaide... just gonna go catch the Port-WC game"

Not a bad caper!

I'm loving the choice of a defensive forward tag on McGovern from Ken Hinkley. We should do likewise with a Pedersen or even a Fritch (someone with good marking power but also good running endurance).

Injury watch: Lycett and Vardey not doing great.

Max Gawn would be licking his lips.

West Coast have really upset the powers that be, aka Footy Gods, at AFL House. they might as well go home now.......one little lie, and looks what happens.......

Oh man! Who wouldn't want to go flying all over the place all the time!

"Good morning passengers. This is your purser speaking. We will be leaving about 25 minutes after our scheduled time, because, flying. Our flight will take fifty minutes and twenty years. You can work out the joke yourselves. Your in flight meal will be a choice between soggy beef wellington and soggy noodles. We will be giving out free soft drinks but if you want half a glass of stale cask wine, we will be happy to rip you off on that. Just ask your nearby flight attendant. We will be showing a movie, Harry Potter and the Missed Finals By A Percentage Of Point Two Percent. Also we will be delighted to [censored] watches, perfumes, and other sh*t to grift a few bucks, or just to annoy you. Whichever comes first."

Sounds like heaven!

haha....Footy Gods and NS must be sitting there....so Norm, what do want to do to them this year..... :)

"F l o g" triggers the naughty words bot but "bugger" does not??????? This must be the strange universe where "guaranteed" and MFCSS co-exist

Wow!! That is a strange rant and i have done a lot of airports over the last 4 months :)

At this stage of the weekend, we are one win and 15% ahead of Geelong.  Hopefully after tomorrow, we are two wins and a bit more % ahead of them.  Nice!  On the other hand, we must win tomorrow to maintain a % buffer over Hawthorn, and our other potential rivals.

Well I suppose he can still get home tonight. Just a days work. But it's good he has done that. Can get more being there live than seeing it off the tv. Plus it's only an hours flight away.

Yeah exactly right, it’s all quite possible but good to see he’s investing his time wisely.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
