you just know Kennedy will be back for the Dees game.

Gaff is a massive out though.  so much of their attacking play starts with him or goes through him. Put harmes on Shuey.

Demand the players lower their eyes and hit up short 30m kicks into the fwd line.  no McGovern long bombs.

With all due respect to Harness who's done this role well, Shuey will be difficult to contain and he's a master at cheating for free kicks and he's pretty good.

I hope I don't get in trouble for this but I copied and pasted directly from Bigfooty's West Coast forum:

1) So I’ve got a mate who’s family is I think married in to JK and they are pretty close with him.

Don’t shoot the messenger and I was skeptical when they all told me but they were very confident that JK is out for the season.

Again take it with a grain of salt because I have no idea whether they are assuming or have heard it from the great man himself but I thought I would pass on the message.

2) I've heard they dont have a time frame for his return and he wont play until finals at the earliest, club is keeping tight lipped.

I was told the same by "a high flying Richmond player" on Saturday night. He also mentioned that he felt we would do very well in the finals.

We need Kennedy to be out, fingers crossed.

Big Frosty will take him to the cleaners anyway he's been in good form.

Early markets have us a $2.15 outsider and Eagles $1.70.

Remember, Gamble Responsibly.

Optus:

Field of play dimensions will be 165m along the east-west axis and 130m on the north-south axis. This is slightly shorter than Domain Stadium (Subiaco Oval) but aligned with the MCG, which is 160m x 141m.

That's a bit narrower than the G. Not as bad as Kardinia Park but it's the same as Etihad (129m wide).

They have full faith in the talent already on their list..

So, they do not NEED, a Priority Pick.

The following quotes from three key people at carlton tell me that they should not be given a priority kick,  even if they ask for one:

Blues chief executive Cain Liddle said in May: "The reason it (priority pick) wasn’t even thought about and that we’re not interested in it is because we’re really confident in the plan and the kids we’ve been able to bring in."

Blues football director Chris Judd even said in May the AFL should no longer award priority picks.

Bolton said this season "had thrown challenges that we probably didn't expect as much".

"Some are those challenging realities around turnover per games of players. We have had players in games get injured and then each week four to five changes - a big injury toll and that coupled with a young list," he said.

"That's made it really challenging and made us not only coach the tactical side of the game and the fundamentals but also really clearly the dynamics of the group and the way and the vibe around the club. It's not that it's been a challenge that we haven't been up for, we have done it, but it was one that was unexpected that we would need to do it to that level."

the Blues do not need more elite young talent... they need mature leaders to drive the bandwagon.

And they need off-field direction away from getting early picks to play trades with... list management is alive and well down princes park in 2018.

Lets see if the blues play trade games with the crows this trade period with the blues first pick... if the blues trade it to the Crows, there has to be an investigation of the 2 clubs,,, going back to last years Gibbs trade.

I honestly feel like WC’s season could spiral out of control, playing Port away next, then they face us (massive game), and Lions away they have been showing some fight lately.

Yep, they are the direct words from the grounds website

With Naitanui, Gaff and possible Kennedy all gone, the Eagles are finished.  Thats arguably their 3 most important players.

I love it and will take great joy in them falling apart.   Can not stand that club.

No Moonshadow. Very much a current player.

Missed a name.

I wonder if the MC might be thinking of resting a few of the young guns against the Eagles in the wake of the Hogan injury?

Ready for a full assault against GWS in round 23.

If the Eagles shore up 2nd spot with a win then GWS may not have much to play for.  A few things would have to fall into place but it's just a thought.

A number of teams have rested a number of players pre finals including the Saints,  Freo,  Geelong & North.  Adelaide last year as well?

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
