Good kick. Must've been a decent breeze too.

Sometimes, a long bomb can work. When you can kick a goal from the centre.

Beats 6-8 handballs, a kick or two sideways and then a turnover..

Love to see that in a game today.

Danny Hughes could bomb a kick that length, from full back

Great to watch

Would love him in the Melbourne team...   one more hitout at Casey and he has to be a chance vs the Crows.

Of all the players in the VFL side at the moment I think he has the most attributes that can impact on the AFL side...can play midfield or forward, decent pace, is a powerful type. Not a lot of finesse to his game but a lot of brute force!

Yes  makes opposition players look over their shoulders     Complete opposite to [censored]    Hated that when Carlscum of all teams called us soft.   No matter how true it might have been.   no longer the case.

Brute force can be very useful in September when everything is on the line

From memory, we don't actually have many players who can kick over 50m, maybe Melksham is the only consistent one, Vince in years gone by. I wonder, compared to other sides with longer kicks, does it cost us 1-2 goals a game. I'll look into it when I have time

think the main worry would be fitness. Even when he was fully fit he'd tire at the end of games with all the effort he puts in.

Hope he can build up the tank and push for selection close to finals!

Plus after what has happened to Viney and Stretch, I don't think the club would be stupid enough to rush him back.....surely....

His foot looks like it is coming long very nicely.

Jaydn Hunt can get into them, but injured and in the twos.

Great kick. Gonads the size of a football this guy

No wonder he's always injured. What an impediment. I'm surprised he can even run.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
