Yeah true I didn't really think about that, just put 2 and 2 together. Thought Smith had an impact against Port without the disposals though. 6 tackles and is a real physical presence.

Love the handle BTW.  Took a few minutes but I got it in the end.

Clever!

OUT - T Mac (injured)

I wouldn't make any other changes. I know they are saying T Mac should be right and he is tough but you don't mess around with internal bleeding and bruising to the lung.  Another hit in the same place on sunday and it would not be pretty (although I aint a doctor and will back the clubs medicos).

We don't need Frost at the back as we have O Mac, Smith and Hibbo.  Membrey only 188 and Bruce not playing

Didn’t a similar thing happen to Riewoldt against Adelaide this year ? Big hit ...coughing up blood ...concerns against flying home ...played the following week & was probably the reason they won

Geary will be a handy in, but Webster is a huge out for them.  His run and carry off the flanks has been terrific this season.  It's actually a bigger out than I think most people would give credit for (not saying you think that way LH, just in general).

I do think Webster is a big out...that is why I suggested we rest Tom Mc...

My guess would be that he'll come in for Tim Smith even if Tmac plays. 7 snags in the 2s including 19 touches and 12 marks will get you a recall

The Coburg factor worries me though

Not much opposition

yes JR, but I think thats balanced out by the fact he did in wet conditions. Not easy for a tall forward when its wet and slippery.  Was an impressive game.

Apolgies Bin, still finding my feet!

Not a problem Dick. Welcome btw.

As you are new you get a pass on the posting statements that sound like fact with no source.

The posters with more that 200 posts who do so regularly do not.

If however you start posting stuff like 'this is the worst loss in the history of the club', 'hogan has played two bad games in a ow and should be dropped', etc etc i reserve the right to call you Reac

Petty to debut this week, mark my words. Has been playing well and been an emergency so he has gotta come in.

Ahead of Smith?

Could be correct. At the end of training the group gathered and when they split I could see a few players supporting Petty (perhaps as congratulations for selection). Still only a guess though.

From what I've read Drunkn he's been really consistent in the 2s

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
