Port Melbourne v Casey Demons - Round 8

Umpiring pretty terribly in ports favour this quarter but Tyson gets a nice goal from 45 out directly in front

Casey’s pressure has stepped up and J.Smith gets a great intercept to kick a nice goal from 40 out

His decision making is getting worse. Must be really down on confidence.

Like I've said before, he looks dejected and unsure...I feel sorry for him.

don't get the player hate;Dom is one of ours and to wish him ill is a bit low.

I sincerely wish him well but every turnover is a dagger to the heart.

Casey really getting on top now

Casey 8-2-50 to Port 3-13-31

Half Time: Casey Demons 8.2.50 to Port Melbourne 4.14.38

Goals

Balic Garlett Kennedy Harris Munro Quigley J Smith Tyson Wagner

Disposals Stretch 16 C Wagner 15 Tyson 12 Keilty 11

Half time Casey 8-2-50 to Port 4-14-38

Caseys pressure much better that quarter.

Tyson seems down on confidence at the moment. Garlett quiet. Stretch and Wagner good.

Keilty very good, as was Petty and Frost

Johnstone had a couple of nice defensive plays. Balic has been okay.

Garlett wont be playing senior footy any time soon.  Cant even turn it on in the VFL.

Interesting reaction by JKH to a wayward pass from Garlett. Ball was slightly above JKH’s reach, so he just stopped on the spot, put his arms down and gave Garlett a look of ‘WTF?’

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
