Lockhart decked without the ball.... Play On And Port get another

Interesting reaction by JKH to a wayward pass from Garlett. Ball was slightly above JKH’s reach, so he just stopped on the spot, put his arms down and gave Garlett a look of ‘WTF?’

Didn't bother staying in the contest? Poor attitude by JKH. He will be delisted come end of season. He's been given far too long to prove himself and has failed.

Go Dom now is the time to perform.??

Keilty playing one of his best games I’ve ever seen

Baker very good this quarter

Needs to have more confidence in his disposal but signs are good.

Great last 10 minutes by Casey.

Not much wind but Casey kicking to the scoring end for the last quarter

One point in it at 3QT thanks largely to Port’s inaccuracy.

Casey 10.5.65 Port Melbourne 8.18.66

Goals Tyson 2 Balic Bugg Garlett Kennedy Harris Smith Munro Quigley J Smith C Wagner

Disposals C Wagner 24 Stretch 21 Tyson 15

I think this draft will end up being a huge winner for us...  Fritsch, Baker, Petty and Spargo all look the goods in these very early days.

Keilty thrown forward this last quarter to try and be a marking target

Our key forward stocks not what we think they are, maybe. No pedo or weid, and neither of the rucks seem to play forward.

KEILTY!!!!

Reads the ball perfectky and strolls into goal

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
