Port played finals in 2017. We didn't. They have also bulked up their list. On that logic i dont think hes wrong at all

It would still be nice to think and experience the Dees' 2018 season as one in which Port is annihilated by the red n blue.

This sounds like a headline directly out of the Betoota Advocate. Footy Player Says New Club Better Than Old Club That Spurned Him.

What a load of tripe. PA closer to the flag than us? Clearly he failed geography at Brighton. There is a brand new one hanging up at Punt Road. That's only walking distance from us, whereas PA would have to get on a plane AND hire a taxi to be near it. Jack seems like a nice lad, but I don't think he is too bright.

Jack Watts wanted to stay at the Dees. For his entire career.

Plainly, he was exited from the club. He handled it with class.

Whatever people’s views here about his on-field performances, he (and Trenners) we’re without doubt committed to the MFC. He deserves our respect for this.

To now rubbish him shows lack of class.

Clearly, he has to make comments such as the comments reported in that article. In fact, I expect he actually needs to believe it himself from a psychological perspective - to not think this would probably prolong the disappointment of having been exited from the club.

I also expect that, confirmation bias here aside, the betting odds will reflect the accuracy of his statement as to which club is closer to the flag.

Perhaps Port Adel. are closer to a flag than the Dees, however I don't think J.Watts is closer to playing in a flag side than most of the Demon players!!!!!!

I don't see anything wrong with Watt's comments either. He is playing a competitive sport and no doubt has been told he needs to be at his absolutely best to gain a spot at Port. Watt's should believe Port are a better chance than any side to win a flag. It takes a team to win a flag and Port as a side need to hear that Watt's is fully on board. It sounds as though he is fully invested. If it were a former opposition player coming to Melbourne and saying things similar to what Jack said - then I would be pretty stoked.

Jack Watts new interview:

“You know”, says Jack, “this is a team that is more likely to carry me to a flag.  It was a great decision- I had to be responsible, train hard and do the team things at Melbourne.  I think they were forgetting I am number 1 draft pick.  I am number 31 draft pick here, and these idiots think that is better.  Anyway, I have hooked up with a bunch of guys and, provided I say the right things, will get a free pass all the way to September.

What is even better is they recruited a bunch of flakes lazier than me.  By the time Motlop and some of these other guys have been made the whipping boys for the season, I can get a few possies, sell some boardies, smile for the kids and grannies (I hope they don’t smile back, they have no teeth and their breath reeks like the Alberton sewer) and think about going over to Toumpies house for a beer or 3.”

Interview ends.

ridiculous.  grow up.  mature.  spare us.  leave.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
