Does it? This is the most embarrassing thread on Demonland.

We got far more frees for the day but the umpiring was strange, but it has been all round. I think the umps are just getting into form too.

Umm no. We got the rub of the green today. What is it with some MFC supporters always blaming the umpires?

I thought the umpiring standard was sub-par, but we got the better of their poor deliberating today.

Some of the rules need changing.

Taking the legs should only be feet first.

Deliberate shouldnt be paid if the opposition could have kept the ball in.

Kicking in danger needs to be paid more

Selwood needs more free kicks.

2017 numbers: 382 frees for, 384 frees against.

Do you honestly think there's a deliberate biased against the club, or that umpiring is inconsistent and, as supporters, we remember the ones that go against us...

It is NOT the numbers of frees it is where and when they are paid!!

Deserves a good old chat.

Personally I think the whole AFL are corrupt and try to even up games to protect their image of an even competition, but...

Why are we so slaughtered with blatant frees?

Are we not playing to the rules?

Are we undisciplined?

I seriously question some umpiring decisions in recent seasons, Razor and Matt Nicholls are by far the worst against us. It's very bad and disappointing that one of the games best ruckmen, Gawn, gives up trying when he doesn't know whats happening. We always seem to be on the wrong end of the stick... It's not about totals, its about blatant frees not paid

Couldn't agree more. They have been corrupt for years. A law unto themselves.

Sadly they are a necessary evil. A blight on the game!

We got crucified today by the parasites today, 5-6 frees resulting in goals. Gawn in the ruck nothing and still won by 6 goals. Inaccurate kick for goal cost us a 10 goal victory but I'm not complaining glad to have this pathetic streak put to bed.

Bugg showed to day that if the frees are that blatant that they have to give it,  it will be paid. His neck would be very tender tonight.......

Wonder why the umpire was smiling for a second or two after that free was paid to North just before half time though.

If you take out the first 10 minutes, and the ridiculous frees in the 10 minutes, then we did win by 10 goals. Kick straight and it should have been 15 goals.

There were some shitters today for sure but that's the way it is.

We've just gotta be good enough to win.

Very true BBO. My beef was the tiggy touchwood frees paid today. I thought the nude nut was particularly overzealous.

What about the free where Goldstein looks at his opponent, elbows him in the head, then gets the free for interference.

How about the free kick against Frisch in the Goal square, it was a legit mark, kenty barely touched him, incredibly frustrating.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
