Is that Pedersen I spy in the circle in the photo on the MFC facebook page?

If that's the ocean in the background then that photo wasn't from today.

If Pedo played today that is beyond [censored] stupid.

47 touches at any level is a hard days work. Jkh lives!

Jesus.  Why would they do that?  Social media 101 surely.

I thought it odd that not one of the reports thus far mentioned that he played - I'd have thought that to be a pretty key piece of information.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's from Williamstown. No way he played today.

Personally I hope they roll with it now and post that photo every week until someone notices.

That photo is from the Round 1 game v Williamstown at Burbank Oval, they've used it a couple of times for different games just because it's a nice picture

I hope the selectors aren't considering JKH for QB. Although he played a very good game what what I can see he needs to put it together in consistent performances with high tackle and work rate being the highlight. Both were completely absent during his games with the seniors this year.

He also tends to go to water with high pressure. Well done to him for this game though, keep it going and who knows....

They were wearing the white clash top this round which is even worse that the MFC white top.

Maybe that's why they resisted using a photo from this game!

Thanks.  It's probably obvious to the locals, but I'm from Tassie and wouldn't know Burbank Oval from the Gabba.  Unless it's the MCG or Etihad, good chance I've never been near it...

A bit higher resolution and we'd be able to see your smoke signals in that photo, Nash.

mmm

they were wearing white today and that looks suspiciously like the ocean in the background.

Could this be alternative/false news

We cant afford for that to happen, especially when another high pick, Brayshaw, has huge question marks over his health.

Darcy Moore has done little more than the weed!  He will be ok given another pre season

Interesting point, but can't go with you on that one. Darcy's kicked a lot of goals. He's the full 200cm beanpole. Has been under pressure this year a lot, with no help, and is still looking good the last few weeks. Did enough last year to warrant them getting rid of Cloke. Weed's a ways off Darcy at the moment. That kid will be a star.

Complete tangent here, but Boomer Harvey had 50+ touches and 9 goals a week ago in whatever league he's playing in now.  Apparently he can still play a bit.

47 touches in any way shape or form is ridiculous. 8 tackles too. Seems like we had some sort of heavy handball game going maybe?

Incredible though. I do really like JKH. And I think Goody does too. I hope he comes good. There's others on the list I'd see delisted before him (though not many).

Theres definitely something to work with JKH, can see him being rookie listed if they want to delist him and make a spot on the main list.

Could be Jetta 2.0

Without passing judgment on Kennedy-Harris either way, I take zero notice of a 47 disposal game in the VFL.

Why ask for stats on a game, then say you take 'zero notice' of a 47 stat disposal game?

Because there are stats and there are stats.  I'm interested in how many marks a young key forward is taking, who is kicking the goals, and how a player like Trengove is going.

That said, I'll fess up a little.

I'd be far more impressed if Trengove got 47, because I know how he uses it.  So to contradict myself I am probably making a veiled criticism of JKH even if I was at pains to suggest I wasn't.

Especially as it was against the bottom side who has yet to win a game.

28 hand balls! Were more than 10 to advantage?

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
