Salem comes in. Absolute certainty. Who's your out?

I think Wagner impacts the contest well.  Bugg goes out for me

You should have led with that. ;)

Yeah I can see your point. I'm glass half full on both. Bugg just kept getting on the end of it as a deep forward, when we were crying out for a target. He's a bit of a mr fixit. Like a very very poor man's Yeo. I suspect you may be right on this one. The defense has struggled at times lately, and that's partly because starters like Wagner haven't had continuity. If he does stay in, I'd love to see Salem rolled through the midfield and half forward. Kicking inside fifty has been absolutely our worst facet all year. Unless it's Salem with the ball in his hands. He can get a kick off half back if needed, but let's see him up the ground where he can really hurt teams.

My set play for Kicking out : Vince to Salem to Watts/Petracca   to      Gartlett/Hogan/Hannan .   Clarrie/Jack V and Nathan J could stand in the middle and smack anybody interfering or practicing their centre bounce drills.

Simple game really  !!

I'd prefer Hibberd to Gawn with a contested mark just outside 50 who hands it off to Jones who chips to Lewis who passes to Watts who hits Trac up with a delightful pass who plays on and puts it down Hogan's throat 15m directly in front for a certain goal

Agreed, very simple game :)

100% agree with that, I think Salems finishing skills will up us massively

Any kicking skills will up us massively. lol

At one point in the second half Watts took a mark uncontested on the paint of defensive fifty. I was overjoyed. Love when he plays between the arcs.

In: Salem, Hogan, Gawn

Out: Wagner, Bugg, O.Mac (T.mac back to defence)

Collingwood don't really have a big key forward presence so our defence matches up well

199cm Moore? 211cm Cox?

The minute you switch off and don't take them seriously, that's when they get up and about.

B: Jetta - Frost - Hibberd

HB: Hunt - T.Mac - Vince

C: Lewis - Oliver - Melksham

HF: Petracca - Pedo - Hannan

FF: Watts- Hogan - Garlett

FOLL: Gawn - Jones - Viney

INT: Tyson - Salem, ANB, Harmes

Optimistic that both Hoges and Gawn return but that is just about best 22

Cox plays reserves and Moore is a skinny, mobile 2nd forward.

Who's kicked 5 in the last two weeks. Daniher's skinny too. Smashed us. I hope we take Moore seriously.

Cox though, they're welcome to play. lol

agree. Salem in. Hogan more than likely.  Gawn not ready so Spencer may be preferred.

Out.  Wagner for Salem

O.mcd if Hogan fit (T.mcd goes back)

Misson has said that Spencer is tracking a week or two in front of Max so if that holds true, bring in Jake for QB and give Max an extra week or two to get cherry ripe.

Does TMac deserve his spot at the moment? 12 possessions at 50 percent efficiency doesn't cut it. If Hogan comes back I would drop him before his brother.

Milkshake and Harmes would have to hold their spot. Nibbler may have done just enough. I reckon there may be a surprise in store - Max or Jesse to come in.

I think if Gawn isn't ready then spencer is. Hogan might also be ready.

Also salem goes straight in.

not too sure who goes out if spencer/Gawn, hogan and Salem play.

 Pedo? Bugg? O mac?

Classic case of stats watching. He's been playing in the ruck and forward out of necessity. Put him in defense and he has 10 marks, 8 r50s, 25 touches, and about 15 spoils on a good day.

He has been forced to play ruck and up forward. He couldn't have done more

The radio (ABC) said that a move from forward to ruck saw an improvement - I think they meant in his (Tmac's) efficiency.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
