I have tried every which way to consider how we can find a win.....very very hard to see it happening.

Need a few players to play career best football.  Winning the contested ball won't be enough.

All we need is for Jones Tyson and Viney to perform and we win. They don't need career best. They just need to find a way to control the tempo. That's what the primary difference between last week's game and our previous three wins against the Tigers. This trio has been an afterthought the past 3 weeks. Jones especially needs to step up.

Lol, do it now as we have come in and the bombers have drifted in betting.

According to the afl match centre betting odds...we are actually starting favourites..us 1.88 to visitors 1.96? WTF??

Essendon's sense of self-worth is nauseating. God I hope we smash them.

That the same with all four main betting companies. Druggies have drifted past $2.00 now. Dee's into $1.85.

It's come very late. Maybe the five day break. Money normally knows. Fingers crossed.

Essendon trying it on again with all the daniher bros on the ground to gee up the crowd. They pulled some stunt against us last year and it seemed to work. Hope it falls flat today.

The fact that we have been competiive in all 5 games maybe

Same old story, dominate the ball, opposition kick the first goal.

And we get the second.

Benny Hill esque stuff

So it's 4 scoring shots to 2, 8 inside 50s to 5, 57 disposals to 47, 11 tackles to 7, but we lead by just 2 points.

That reads like a standard 2017 MFC start.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
