I've given up trying to work out how much money I have spent in membership and merchandise over the years, but need,ess to say it would equal the purchase of a reasonable new car.  I've invested much the same as about 30,000 other loyal supporters over the past decades.

Good on each and every supporter who puts their money in the MFC tin. I can tolerate losses against the top sides but losses to sides we should win every season is now at breaking point. This club is famous for this stat and frankly we should be mature enough by now to get over this hurdle. 

If there is ever a reason to slag off at this club it is because of these games.  As a club we need to grow up and stopped been locked in this child like time warp.

they are the panic kings when under pressure and enough is enough.  Peter Jackson was sitting there looking forlorn and must be wondering when the hell we will eliminate this panic from our in field culture.

The club will stagnate under 40,000 members while this continues to happen.

There's one Melbourne game from the distant past that always sticks in my memory.

No ... it's not the 1964 grand final (not saying that wasn't memorable, by the way) but rather, it was the next game the Demons played immediately after winning the premiership - it was against Richmond in Round 1, 1965.    

The Tigers had been perennial losers ever since I could remember but they had a young up and coming side. We had won six flags out of the previous possible ten but were on the wane. We still had sufficient players experienced in the ways of winning while they didn't. We beat them by a goal that day because they had the talent but didn't know how to win - not even their most experienced players. Richmond lost their next two games as well but things started clicking for them. They learned how to win and they ended up finishing fifth. By 1967 they were winning flags and went through a golden era in their history over the next decade and a half. We won the first 8 games and then fell off the perch.

There's a lesson there somewhere.

No matter how good we become or where we go from here, there will always be tough losses to swallow.  True, we've had more than our share, but it doesn't turn me off the club or make we wonder about the money I put into it.  I'll always buy my membership and get behind the club no matter how well we are playing.

My desire to go to games has dropped off significantly over the last few years. I now only go to home games, and last year and this I'm struggling to be motivated too even do that. 

I'll be downgrading my reserve seat membership for a country membership.

So does that mean the Dogs are at Breaking point now? Freo beat them too.

How about Hawthorn and Carlton who got rolled by the Suns?

You feel it because it's your club but every week 8 teams get beaten. We aren't as famous for losing games as you think. You just feel it that way.

How some of you have stuck by this club through the 70's and 80's and the last 10 years is amazing. Now you're fed up? Now? We are 2-2 and have had arguably or best 3 players out the last 2 weeks.

It's like some of you are looking for a reason to sook and it's really, really boring.

It happens after every loss.  Most discuss it in the right thread but others, like picket, have to start their own thread as they believe their views are more important than others and are therefore worthy of their own thread.  You also get the threads, normally 2-3, that single out players as well.  It's as regular as clockwork.

Went to the game, disgusted with the 3rd quarter, had a nice dinner, spoke to my 84yr old mum to wish her Happy Easter and watched Spurs beat Bournemouth, it's only footy

How good are the boys from White Hart Lane at the moment. That's the le el MFC needs to reach ....attractive game plan with poise and flair.

I will get down on my knees and apologise profusely for been a very naughty boy. How dare I write a thread on this site without the permission of those self sworn elite who feel it's necessary to play headmaster.  Let's change the rules to allow only the self righteous knobbers to start threads.

Those who simply accept inept mediocre performances. Well done boys, you nearly got there. Another honourable loss. We're improving. Bad umpiring. Players out. We're a young side.

And ""how many games have you played" directed to posters who dare criticise the team. 

Do those apologists have jobs where, if they perform badly, they face no adverse consequences or criticism? If so, they have dream jobs.

The second category are those who don't accept inept performances. Who criticise the extremely well paid coaches/players who perform badly. 

I know which category I fall into.

For me it comes from working for K. Packer at GTV 9 in the 80's. 

Kerry didn't accept 2nd place. He got to the top & stayed there, when TV ruled the house.

1. Those that reflect on the team and the game in a rational, reasoned manner (all be it from a myriad of diverse perspectives), or

2. Those who project their frustrations at life all over a sports team.

Its got nothing to do with accountability, and everything to do with people having a sook about how personally slighted they feel by the club.

The club that continues to give - me hypertension, irritable bowel, apoplexy and I'll  even throw in my foot fungus for good measure.
