yeah, but i hope they had vegan, gluten-free, non-dairy, low-sugar, halal, kosher and nut-free options available

Alas Daisycutter, just buckets of kale.

When you arrive at Casey, wind your watch back 30 years.

Maybe that's why CS forged the relation with the city of Casey. He knew playing games out there would spark that whole nostalgia thing he was aiming for. ;)

not for the locals, colin, but the more sensitive, pampered types making the pilgrimage to our colonialist 2nd home

It's the thin edge of the wedge, Daisy. Encourage that sort of behavior out there and where will it all end? 8 Bit out in Footscray is a good example of where this type of villainy leads.

Jumping the fence at Casey is another option.

oh, i agree fully. you see, my original comment following rtg's comment was in the same vein. but you knew that

i'm sure though that casey will get around to finding the delights of a mobile eftpos machine before too long, but i'm afraid dieter is unlikely to ever recover from his traumatic experience and darken casey field's doorstep again. he should have listened to his wife, because there is one thing poles know well and that is the virtue of mowing the lawn on the weekend before all else

Dieter - should have just jumped onto the Ticketmaster site on your phone, bought the ticket online and got the guys on the gate to scan the barcode on your phone. Very common nowadays - FYI for next time mate.

Noice ;)

Dont know if you were there for Womens game against Brisbane

Torrential rain and 2/3 of the crowd left before half time

It is a winter game and that happened to be a wet day.

And you guys think you have it hard.

I was going to India last month but they cancelled the note equivalent of the $10 and $20 notes. That represented 86% of the currency on issue in a country where 90% plus of the transactions are in cash. To say it caused chaos is an understatement.

Came to Hanoi instead. Not much eftpos here but the bia hoi (fresh beer) is cheap!!

The lawn was just the bloody start.

You're right about Polish wives, they know what their husbands ought to be doing.

I saw a Tea Shirt for sale in Eumundie recently ; 'Pray for me, my wife is Polish'.

Or, in a Polish cake shop in Carnegie I told the Polish owner, Hey, my wife is Polish.

She replied, Polish girls, they keep you on your toes.

The trouble is, I replied, I'm not a ballerina.

Yes but the fact that the ground has only cover for a few hundred spectators means thousands get wet

Not referring to playing conditions

A language of cascading sibilants...

Given we are referring to the women's game, this could be read in quite a disturbing way... or in BBOs case, the usual way.

I too was stunned that there are no corporate boxes and champagne on arrival.

I was in a private box sipping 30 yo scotch and feasting upon chicken and cucumber sandwiches all afternoon RTG, i call it 'home'.

What, pray tell, is your ethnic origin, DC?

With a name like Dieter mine is obvious. It was a hard cross to bear in North Sunshine from 1956 onwards, especially when my dear mum sent me to school in brand new lederhosen, but I have to say I wore my German identity with pride and a lot of courage. It's why I'm interested in where people are from, why I have a special affinity with the underdog. Ironically, in that 1958 grand Final witnessed at my grandmother's house, the loser, as my daughter would say, was the Melbourne Football Club. Hence my allegiance.

Sounds like the sort of place Trump would build a wall around and people would get shot attempting to scale out of, not into.

I suffer from terminal amnesia. Give an ex digger a clue?

I'm old enough to demand, don't riddle me!

I know, you're an extra terrestrial ring in, brought to terra firmus on the wings of the Phantom.

Also, I'm a busy man. I have my finger in many meat pies. Some days I don't know whether it's Monday or Monday week.

All that is constant is the scintillating commentary from my beautiful wife - all Polish girls are genetically blessed with the god given gift of pulchritude - and the constant demands of a teenage daughter, who is at least 50% genetically correct ,who mistakes her father for an ATM.
