Didn't see any posts about the MVP awards, so here is a quick summary:

MVP - Patrick Dangerfield (Gawn fourth behind Danger, Sloane and Martin)

Most Courageous - Luke Parker (Viney fifth behind Parker, Ward, Rance and Selwood)

Best Captain - Taylor Walker

Best First Year Player - Callum Mills

22 Under 22 - Petracca, Viney and Hogan all named.

Tremendous season from Max, good to see it recognised by his peers.

Taylor Walker best captain!?

Surely they are taking the [censored]?

I think Dazzler, when you consider what that club has been through in recent times, the award is not without merit. More to captaincy than just on-field

If thats the case then where is Jack Trengove and Jack Grimes award from back in 2012?

I understand the point your coming from Biff but if we go by your logic then those 2 deserve it after what we went through as a club with the Jim Stynes passing and the off field dramas that we endured all year.

How is Rance in any way courageous? Is he not the dog who punched a prone Jack Watts in the back of the head? He is one of the most cowardly players in the league!

Clayton Oliver criminally underrated.

The club nominated Wagner ahead of Oliver for best first year player.

So I agree with your point; however, his peers were unable to vote for him.

The Under 22 team was a bit disappointing. No Caleb Daniel? Hunt pretty unlucky to miss out also!

Would anybody seriously have Caleb Daniel in the best 22 players in the entire competition under 22?!

Joe Daniher shouldn't be in there, Caleb Daniel is stiff.

Like him as a player and had a great year but there are so many good mids under 22, he wouldn't be in my top 10.

I see where you are coming from but despite the wishes of many, their coach didn't get murdered

Adelaide FC have had a fair bit to deal with from players leaving to Bailey's illness & passing & the tragedy of last year. I believe Walker has played a huge role in keeping the group grounded & together through it all

However, if it was a tragedy competition over the last 10 years, yes, we would still be ahead

Massive effort from Gawn to run 4th in the MVP. Get on him to win it next year

Assuming the decision had already been made, I think the selectors would've questioned leaving Daniel out while watching him run riot in an Elimination Final. 33 disposals (13 contested) and 8 inside 50s. He was probably the Dogs best player,

Membrey and Hunter on the bench are both expendable. I think Daniel is already shaping up as a more damaging player than Hunter.

He's not a massive omission but he would've been a very worthy inclusion.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
