Break out game - one of the best 14 touch games I have seen

Great to see him tackle and be defensive whilst using his pace/skill well - the result of good strong development by the coaches

if he keeps this up, the opposition will have to tag him - imagine someone if OUR backline needing to be tagged?   could be a massive player for us

This is the 100 metre 2011 GF sprint.  Joel Wilkinson is in the race.  Wilkinson has the record for the fastest 20 metre sprint ever at the AFL Draft Combine in 2010.

Not only does Dangerfield win the race, but he's clearly quicker than Wilkinson over the first 20 metres.

Dangerfield went on to also win this race in 2012.

Now I know that not every player that runs in the GF sprint is their club's quickest player, but if you can blow away the fastest player ever at DC over 20 metres then I doubt many can hold a candle to you.

Btw, Wilkinson ran a blistering 2.75 seconds over 20 metres at DC 2010.

Was that the one where he nearly made the smother on Jenkins on the goal line when Jenkins got the Joe the Goose? That episode showed the high level competitiveness he has - most would have stayed on the ground, accepted the inevitable and not gone on to the next contest. It was the tackling equivalent of unrewarded running.

The thing is, it's 2016 and Dangerfield is not as quick as that now and if you saw Hunt as a junior you would note he's actually faster now than he was then.

Think it would be a lot closer than you're giving hunt credit for.

Absolutely agree. For an 11 gamer, he looks like a top 5 draft pick. He's got a lot of the required attributes.

I'd back Dangerfield to win reasonably comfortably.

According to this Dangerfield beat Murdoch (2.76s @ 20m) in 2013 and Murdoch beat Hunt into 4th in 2014 so I think Danger has it covered.  Hunt is quick enough though, some players can actually use their pace and he's one of them.

Yes, Hunt ran in the 2014 GF sprint. Was the only runner who got down in block position at the start and got off to a flyer, weakened in the second fifty for fourth I reckon.

For those of you who may not know this, but there is a MASSIVE difference in terms of speed with and without the ball. A player can be blistering face by running in a straight line over 20metres. You put that same player, ball in hand trying to break a line going as fast as he can it's a completely different story.

You look at Hunt.. he actually doesn't even break stride when he bounces the ball. He bounces it so far in front of him the speed allows him to run onto it perfectly. He is great at this. 

 

Dunno who the Crows player was at the end, but it was nice to see the look on his face when he realised that short of a V8 he had no hope in hell of catching him
