GAMEDAY - Round 7

Featured Replies

Viney has lifted his work rate.

GAJ should be playing forward, clearly carrying a calf, the explosiveness is gone and his sidestep and evasivness is non existent.

Again I don't like Vince in the back line, if he's going to play a flank i'd prefer it to be forward.

Petraccas thighs look so big, I don't know how he can run on them..  Surely squatting 200kg slows you down?

Let's not talk percentage for fcuk sake

Pedders!

Score please

That was embarrassing, Watts.

Yeah he's not on tonight. I'll spare it though, he's had a good year so far.

Viney is concussed I reckon.

120 to 75

"Despite being dominated from stoppages, Gold Coast have launched five goals to two from their defensive 50. They have launched 40 per cent of their scores from this source, well above their average of 16.2 per cent."

Still shows that we are still rather poor as a team defensively.

No, out on percentage (but we still need to win first).

Think well be right.

Petracca showing some really good signs

Pedders again. We've had 7 players who have kicked two goals.

They're showboating again.

I think this settles the Pedo vs Frost argument.

Now, we need to get some junk time goals into Hogan and Watts to get their confidence up.

And this has been such a positive improvement in our game, the spread of goal kickers.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
