That's really cool. I like how the boomerang takes the place of the red yoke. Love the red to blue gradient, the colours are nice.

Definitely one of the better designs I've seen :)

awesome too that the new design focuses on the yarra area, wurundjeri tribe and the kulin nations that surround the city.

from memory the last design was based on themes from the northern territory, which was cool, but not exactly relevant to "melbourne".

Looks great!

I was a big wrap for last years as well, but this one is a little more bold, yet still distinctly Melbourne.

This one is by far the best indigenous jumper i have ever see.

Seriously need to get my hand on one of these baby's!

Love that they've got past MFC indigenous players inscribed down the side too.

None of my traditional watering holes are on the new jumper.

Very easy to get lost following that map but apart from that looks good.

Ours is amazing, easily the best. Especially compared to this.

Seriously terrible, looks like 90's satin boxer shorts.

Interesting topic that. Here is a list of all the Indigenous players Melbourne has had over years:

http://demonwiki.org/Indigenous+Players

Eddie Jackson the only Indigenous player to play in a flag (48).

Interestingly, a bloke called Colin Graham only played 35 games but got 13 brownlow votes in 1977! Any of the older posters remember him?

The Wiz clearly the best in my opinion - although I only saw from Lovell onwards play.

lol.

Cyril looks like he's screaming internally.

That's a terrible design.

Each jumper design tells a story, (literally) and so aesthetic 'appeal' becomes secondary and almost a moot point for Indigenous round...

So in that way, they're all great.

The fact that posters think Cyril would be 'screaming internally' wearing something that details his proud heritage is humorous and completely misses the point of why these custom jumpers are made for Indigenous round.

agree.   they are all equally good or equally bad depending on your pov and allegiance. it shouldn't be a competition, it's not the archibald after all

It's interesting that most clubs (Melbourne, Adelaide, Richmond, Port) have the 'R' for Recognise, while it appears that Hawthorn and Essendon don't.

Deleted my initial response to this, don't wanna get into a big thing here.

Continue on.

There's no big thing and I'm far from offended.

Others have shared views about the 'aesthetics' of the jumpers even if they didn't say what you did about Cyril.

I'm just saying clearly ya'll are missing the point. The designs hold stories which are why they're made and I'm not sure that everyone knows that.

Because if they did, I can't imagine there'd be the same response in regards to the 'aesthetic' of the jumper.

Absolutely love this jumper! Does anyone know if they will be making them in kids sizes? Have a 5 year old indigenous boy who is in love with Garlett and I want to buy him one if they make them for kids but club hasn't emailed back and was over two weeks ago??

Reckon the Freo and Port jumper are playing off for gold, we definitely get bronze.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
