AVB wasn't setting the world on fire when he was in, for me he comes back through Casey. Two unforced changes to a winning team is all I'd want to do. Vince and Garlett come in, but I'm buggered if I know who comes out. 

Hunt and Wagner have done nothing to be dropped, Frost and Pedo did well, Bugg (another that could've been in the firing line) was fantastic. Brayshaw's numbers are down but it's funny I actually thought he was important. Did some very crucial things, so too with Oliver's numbers but when he was involved in made a difference. 

I don't envy the selection committee deciding who comes out!

I can't believe you Demonlanders. We played very good and you want all these changes.

For those wanting Trengove this week then you have no idea. He is weeks away as he did not play last week and did not get a kick in first half.

Roos will reward performance so unless there are injuries there will be only one change. Vince will be in and the unlucky Hunt out.

pretty much my thoughts  - you can make a case for no changes at all  - however you want your best 22 in and that means you want Gartlett and Vince playing.

As many have said there are going to be unlucky players this week.  Its a big home game on the big stage and I think we will play our best fit 22.

In:

Petracca - he has done his time in the magoos. 32 possessions in another dominant display. Played the 2nd half in the forward line. Its time he was debuted. 

Vince - No need for discussion

Garlett - We would have beaten North if was playing. Can't afford not to play him if fit.

Out:

Oliver - Rest

2 unlucky players depending on match-ups, game plans and fitness.

Because he doesn't need a "rest" at round 5.  He may by round 12, but not round 5.  And if you've been watching you'll note that he has been carefully managed in his 4 games.

Most of all, I want him in because he makes us better.

That's the only way I see Tracc playing. To replace Oliver who could perhaps do with a 'de-loading' week. (Like Hogan and Brayshaw had last year). Not saying he is tired, but I'm sure we'll see it eventually.

Would mean Vince to play more midfield time and Garlett to play a higher-half forward role.

Get Tracc isolated closer to goal for his contested marking. 

I'm going too far.

Don't play him yet.

It's so hard to see in real time, but he gave one of those great little handballs over his head into space, around our forward 50 arc. You can't teach that kind of awareness and, when it comes off, you go from a maul type situation to someone running into an open goal.

He doesn't come out, for me. If they were flogging him, fine, but they're not.

Maybe "rest" isn't the right word I was after. It would be "managed".

 

On another note, in Roosy's presser, he said that Petracca told him he will be playing this week.

No need worrying about AVB at the moment, word is he will be missing 4-6.

What about the way he held off his clearing kick out of the centre square, feigned and then quickly handballed to Hogan (I think).  It was all class and just showed his quick thinking and great decision making.  It's little things like that that show how good he'll eventually be.

Those who are wanting Brayshaw dropped are foolish. Watch the highlight of all our goals, he is involved with a lot of the passages of play which led to goals. He is still building his tank due to an interrupted pre-season, but his polish is too valuable to our side. If he is fit and not concussed he must play. 

I think we should try and convince the AFL to invoke the heat rule and allow two extra on interchange. Firstly, it will be easier to get the AFL to agree to that than to identify who loses their place in the team and secondly, Richmond's 23rd and 24th players will be nowhere near AFL standard.

After a win like that as a result of the global team effort I would say "no change".

But with the options:

IN: Garlett, Vince.

OUT: Hunt, Brayshaw or Oliver.

 

Sensational debut by Hunt. Unfortunately for him Garlett up forward should take his spot.

Brayshaw and Oliver seem like they're slowing, maybe Brayshaw is still a little underdone from his injury interrupted NAB, and possibly Oliver needs a rest. Both still played well IMO.

I don't want to drop Brayshaw again, but if he doesn't have the fitness to play on ball, he shouldn't be in the team. If Brayshaw stays, then perhaps Wagner goes. Matt Jones was beaten by Sidebottom and couldn't be a certain selection with our current depth.

I thought that was close to Lumumba's best game for the club yesterday, mainly because he lowered his eyes and looked for a target, rather than blazing away. I'm not convinced about Frost due to his lack of football smarts, but he may well trouble Richmond's defence.

Vince and Garlett are definite ins, but Vandenberg needs to get some touches at Casey. I would play Petracca ahead of him.

That's about the dumbest thing I've ever read. Stephen Powell kicked 32 goals in 2000, Bugg hasn't even scored this year. He just doesn't hurt teams with his possessions, no matter how many of them he has.

You do realise that Wagner plays as a defensive sweeper and intercept mark in the backline and that the only reason he'll be dropped is if someone can come in and play his role better ?  Brayshaw staying or going has zero to do with Wagner.

 

Frost doesn't play like a tall in the forward-line.  He's a rubbish mark and I suspect the reason he and Pedersen both played was because Frost took over the Garlett role.

If Garlett is right to go I do believe Frost will make way.

Surely it's evident by now that nobody "wants" anyone dropped. Bottom line is we've got at least one and possibly two of our best players ready to go, and someone unlucky soul will have to part.

I really don't like the emotive words people use around selection. "Want dropped". "Doesn't derserve it". There's only 22 places in the side and sometimes we can improve it even when there wasn't anything particularly wrong with it. It's not personal, and I'm sure most players understand that, but some fans seem to want to make it so.

Out: Oliver - looked tired but really no other reason, even tired he got himself involved in a few nice passages just the man coming up that costs him

Side notes:
-I think Frost and Bugg just both performed well enough to secure spots for next week but Bugg will be on thin ice if his form drops again the midfield is hotting up for spots and his form has been average before sunday
-CP5. Loved what i saw of him at the casey game looks a class above down there but looked very tired after every little burst. Played most of the second half in the forward line (not sure he was happy about that seemed more interested in being in the midfield group at 3qtr time) He will get there but i think he is still 2 or 3 weeks off being fit enough for AFL

Petracca & Trengove prob will be OK to come in the week after next against Saints. So whoever goes out this week is going to be competing with them to get back in.

Yesterday was the most even team performance for years. Not one of yesterday's 22 "deserve" to get dropped on performance. In recent years, even in our few good wins, there's always been 1 or 2 who would have been dropped if there was anyone better. This is a new situation!

We also need to look at who we're playing - Richmond & St Kilda next couple of weeks. Neither of them have strong talls, the danger with each of them is being run off our feet. So maybe for team balance in those games, we don't need both Frost and Pedo, though both of them added plenty yesterday.

Ok. So...Brayshaw is best 22, and shouldn't be an unlucky soul. There are others who should/could be replaced before him and, to continue using your more polite terminology, it wouldn't stand as an improvement to the side if he was replaced, as his regular involvement in a lot of our goals on Sunday depict.
