It was Redleg who noticed last week that the club site was listing the following in the upcoming open training sessions:

"Monday 15 February - Gosch's Paddock - 1.45am"

So we dutifully turned up to the Paddock at about 1.30am together with a torch in anticipation of a solid post midnight training session. There were half a dozen other like-minded die hards in attendance and we were soon locked in conversation about whether the Truck would be training, how Trenners was shaping up and what Dawsy would be doing over the next four to six weeks.

The crowd built up to about a dozen but there was no sign of any of the players. By 2.15am we were pretty certain that it would be a no show and a few of the punters started drifting off. My torch battery died at 2.30am but luckily some Melbourne Victory supporters happened along after a while and very obligingly gave us some of their spare flares to light our way back to our vehicles. It was our lucky night because we'd over parked in a two hour zone and the car hadn't been towed away.

Redleg thinks it might have been a mistake and the open session is really at 1.45pm. There's a chance that he might roll up again later in the day but I'd call the club first.

Thats all I have to report.

Are you sure the no show wasn't due to a late change to Casey?  Apparently the moonlight is stronger down there!:)

Thought I saw trenners on the far side of the oval practising kicking with both feet, either that or a muscular possum. Very hard to tell. Bye the Bye does anybody know if there is any training scheduled for today, and if so where and when? Or am I safe in assuming that 01:45 am translates to 10:45 am at the paddock.

Rang the club, they are correcting the mistake and it is 1.45PM today.

If it was a mistake, then what the hell were you guys watching at 1.45am??? (and I use the word "watching" in the euphemistic sense) :)

i went and had a terrifying experience......at about 3 am I had given up looking for the players....... i was over at the south end of the paddock .....under the underpass......looking at graffiti, .......and i saw a ghost ! It said ..and I quote.." not for 100 years will the curse of Norm Smith be expunged.......arghhhhhh (something like arghhhhh) "

And I ran , I ran so far away, I just ran, I ran all night and day, I couldn't get away.

I had my bong with me. I keep it in a shoulder bag...just the neck poking out. Still I get disapproving looks on public transport.....people are weird.

Curses never go for 50 years......what sort of a curse is that? A very poor curse...piddling lousy 50 years......I just hope I heard right.....that it was a hundred ......not a thousand years..!..

(noises off.....evil laughter )      ha haah haaaa haa haaa! etc etc

You sure you didn't mean to write "growing & smoking grass ??"

hahaha, anyone out of bed to go down to gosh's for a 1.45am start have to be questioned as to what they're after?

I can imagine a group of souls, (maybe ghosts), down at gosh's wringing hands &, well,  maybe they lit a fire to stand around?

Thanks got the report WJ

Fantastic observations

Maybe they didn't turn up because of our dearth of night matches. I bet Collingwood were next door training the house down

Best LOL was the Victory fans and their spare flares. I am surprised that they hadn't used them all.
