Our footy department have their work cut out for them to get some kind of return on pick 4 for Toumpas.

As it stands right now, that pick goes down as one of the worst since 2007 for so many reasons. If we can something inside pick 20 we'll be doing ok.

Ok!

I would say it would be a bloody miracle

Good news all round there Bonkers.

The bad bit is I doubt there will be any takers for either.

I thought the same thing re: Dawes - what clubs out there would take him? Of the other 17 clubs you would think that Carlton, Brisbane and possibly even Fremantle might have a look, but I doubt he will garner much interest.

Liam Jones and Dawes up forward for Carlton, defenders nightmare.

Assuming you mean Jones and Dawes... and yes, I agree. You wouldn't be worried about either of them kicking any goals.

With the impending arrival in PA of Dixon I find it hard to believe that we would get anything decent in return for Toumpas. They will potentially be trading their first rounder for this year and next year which makes it difficult for them to give us something of value for Toumpas. Do they have any players who are decent but have lacked a few opportunities? I don't like the sound of it really.

Ben Newt--- Oh, right.

:P

Well, we all know he's freakin' useless, but it's possible other clubs desperate for a KPF would happily take him on. I reckon we could get a pick inside 30.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this. It was reported on channel 7 news that we are looking to trade Chris Dawes & that Toumpas has requested a trade back to SA.

Finally something we can get excited about! Let the fun begin

We would have to give Dawes away and if we do that I would surmise that he is the one agitating to go...

I guess I will watch this space, but I don't expect anything to happen.

Corrected, long day.

Brisbane may show a slight bit of interest in Dawes.

Something's been bugging me for a few days and suddenly it makes sense. When Chris Dawes was a guest on Fox Footy the other night, he was in casual clothes (a Puma t-shirt, from memory). Every single other guest they had on (like Joel Selwood) was wearing their team's sponsored shirts. From what I understand it's a contractual requirement for players to wear their club's gear in media appearances.

Didn't think much of it at the time but he also had a pretty disinterested, generic answer when asked about where the Dees are at. He was noticeably blase about the club (even though he's rarely much of a wordsmith, I'll admit).

Which is out of character for him, he's normally pretty up beat about the club and quite positive.

Maybe his IBS was playing up.

Some people on Facebook that also saw the segment are saying it was reported Essendon & Freo are interested in Dawes. Not sure on that as I didn't hear it myself. Edited by Bonkers

Probably just IBS. Without getting graphic, it could explain what happened to his MFC polo shirt.

Swap him for Carlisle.

Who in their right mind would hire Dawes to represent them in a court of law?

He'd constantly drop any case files handed to him.

i still think Toumpas could become a player. If you look this stats which i have posted on here numerous times, they aren't actually that bad and show improvement.

Sadly he has the tag of being the number 4 draft pick, and other players from that draft have flourished i.e Wines, Stringer etc.

I'm assuming Dawes was on a front loaded contract, which would mean that if another club takes him, it wouldn't be a financial burden. I don't think we'll get anything for him other than an exchange of pics. He's physically shot, and I doubt that he played more than 6 good quarters for the year.

According to the AFL website the interest in Toumpas is from Port.

It's what everyone's saying, but not sure where that has come from or how solid it is. There are 2 teams in Adelaide.

Hogan kicked more goals in his debut season than Chris Dawes has kicked in 3 seasons at Melbourne.

He isn't performing the role he was brought in to do and 2015 was his second worst scoring year since debut.

It has nothing to do with his draft pick.

ummm, yes it does. First rounder, top 5. If he was a player outside of the first rounder people one here would say he is tracking nicely.

Rubbish.

If ANB has a third year like Toumpas he's toast too. Most Melbourne supporters are smart enough to know Toumpas is a football lightweight in every conceivable way.

I don't agree that he is a lightweight in fact I think that is a bit harsh tbh, I may be in the minority according to your post but there it is. If he is improving as a player and indication are he is, the speed at which he is coming along may not be to my liking but he is improving.

we get other supporters talking about how MFC does not develop there young talent, which is bs. But are we not perpetuating this by throwing the baby out with the bath water by calling for a young high draft picks to be dumped.

I reckon one more year for the Toump is not unreasonable or inconceivable, because the risk of getting someone in who has to learn the structures or is fresh from TAC or othe state leagues.

There are players who impact straight away and there are players who need a little time next year is his make or break.

If he drops his briefs he could be exposed
