I see the AFL king pins are all at Werribee Mansion for a love in to discuss equalisation and the state of the game. I would love to be staying down there tonight to witness the hard work being done. What do you reckon is going on now, a giant AFL payed for nosh up and pizz up? Are you expecting some bold resolutions to be agreed upon for equalisation to put to the Commission of Drones any time soon? I suspect we will see zilch on equalisation but a few options to unclog the game.

But we do know there will be gallons of top shelf plonk knocked off tonight and paid for by the paying public.

put the game into reverse, & reverse up about 18 years.

& tell them to stop listening to the stakeholders such as the players, & the current coaches; & start to talk/listen to the people in the outer's, & the past coaching greats of the 60's & 70's instead.

get the game back into the hands of the people who make the living atmosphere at games, the everyday supporters... no, not the members... They can have their say with they're clubs.

The Swans with their poaching of Franklin from under the noses of GWS (read AFL) put their own interests ahead of the game. Skrew the Swans and Collis the "he said some rude words mum" wimp.

Swans were out of order and exploited the rules to the detriment of the competition. Puts them in the same boat as us for tanking and the Dons for Jabbing...

Good on Fitzy for letting him have it.

And... what kind of [censored] bag reports on the colour of language used in a private conversation? [censored]!

Edit: additional rant.

What a load of rubbish. Point out exactly what the Swans did wrong in signing Franklin as a FA?

fitzpatrick may well have pizzed off someone in newscorp but he has had a dream run for many years and seemingly been off-limits for criticism

his chickens may well be coming home to roost

not that collis is a clean skin either with their manipulation of cola which they should never have had in the first place

Newscorp linked with Channel 7 - they may be [censored] off at the shemozzle that is Friday night footy this year.

Although it was "within the rules" (sounds familiar?) it was against the spirit of the COLA. Which was to compensate PLAYERS for the higher cost of living in Sydney, not for the CLUB to stockpile $$$$ for a big purchase.

Although they landed Buddy, Sydney shot themselves in the foot. Soon COLA will be a thing of the past even though the reasons for its existence may continue.

A

nd yes, Sydney are not taking away the COLA. The AFL is. But Sydney are culpable.

News Warp have stronger links with Channel 10. They'll be laughing their heads off at this year's debacle.

I think it's drawing a pretty long bow to argue anything they did was unethical. Completely different to tanking or drug use.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
