Just did not play to the conditions.

When it's dry, we bomb it long and play wet weather footy, when it's wet, we over possess the ball by handballing it thus playing dry weather footy!

Anybody see a shepherd.

Anybody see anger.

Anybody see heart.

Anybody see our blood.

Interesting isn't it. We really can't even be bothered to walk to the microwave. PJ was right when he said that the club had lost the trust of the members. Games like today make it nearly impossible for us to trust the club.

Edit for spelling

Poor old PJ. He's done his job. About time a few others started doing the lifting.

We are unwatchable. It's not the defensive focus or the rolling scrums, it's the fact that you just know with every movement forward, we will torch the entry in to 50 and lose it. It's just so bloody frustrating.

Stretch, vanders, Brayshaw and Harmes - these young blokes all add something at their best and have really bright futures, but there are too many of them in our side and when they all fail at once, it leaves too much for too few. It's not their fault, it's just how it is. I expect to see Matt Jones, Bail et al reappear and finish the season out shortly. It sucks, but that's why they're on the list - to take punishment instead of the valuable youth.

I don't know why the selectors bother picking Michie. I'm not particularly a fan, but he is being set up to fail, or so it appears from my bean bag.

Bernie, Jones, Cross, Dunn (if I'm generous). Thank God for these guys. Carrying the side on their backs at present. At least it's not poor old Jones on his own now.

I don't forecast a bleak future based on my most recent memory like many, I've seen plenty to remain optimistic this year. The risk for me is that I die of boredom waiting.

Very generous, I think, mate. He was truly horrible today, IMO.

At least we wont have to worry about anymore annoying 'we can still make the finals' threads.

I wonder if Sylvia could give us a lift next year, if he puts in a big pre-season. We could rookie him.

I'm just sad.

This club has killed my love for the game.

Sad is my predominant feeling too

I have gone beyond anger

Has PJ anything to say? Is he still running the club?

Honestly contemplating giving up on this club. Not only are we shocking, but we're really boring to watch. Just a waste of my time really.

Boring. Totally agree. Just not worth watching

Will not go again this season

Roos needs to apologiseto us all

Just did not play to the conditions.

Absolute BS. Didn't play full stop.

So did we start Garland on Riewoldt and leave it for three quarters?

Even on one leg, Garland was never going to be the right match up for Riewoldt. It might have been an attempt to keep the McDonald as a forward experiment going, but if ever there was a game to return TMac to CHB, it was this one.

More bad gameday coaching.

TMcD has had the wood on Riewoldt, generally, so the "forward experiment " was run again. Poor decision making from the coaching panel. (Hope it wasn't an example of Goodwin's game day coaching

Im [censored] scared that Roos ALREADY has passed match day duties over to Goodwin.

^^

My family and I did a first today. We walked out halfway through the 3rd QTR reeling from another putrid performance by this team. Right from the get go I sensed this group was going to serve up another compelling reason not to renew costly memberships next year and they did not disappoint.

If the MFC believes it will attract new members to this club they have their collective heads up their rear ends.

The brand of football is putrid, I challenge anyone to say its enjoyable, and unless there is a massive change in AFL football we are not going anywhere folks. This situation onfield for the MFC happens far too often and too frequent for any hardened supporter. The football is rubbish to watch but even worse for MFC supporters who pay to watch this rubbish far too often. This club needs a revolution or die....

I feel for the kids, and fully understand why they would go and play soccer, this rubbish served up by this club does nothing for the game I love.

Sadly, as a 60 year supporter I believe we will never ever be a power again

Yep. I cannot see when I will ever trust this club again.

Give me one reason to

We were pathetic today, but the umpiring was infuriating. Especially from Brad Wallace... I wonder if his old man had a hand in him getting the job?

Brent Wallace. He was a shocking kid at school. Cheeky, unpleasant little brat and on todays showing will be another terrible umpire. Why should he be any different from the others?

There is no reason. The club must now fold. The players don't care enough and have no talent. The coach is an interim coach collecting money to improve the culture which he hasn't. The CEO is also a fill in. We once were based at the MCG and used it as a training ground and our home ground. Now everyone's home ground is the MCG. We wear white when we want to lose (so called clash strip). Maybe the players should strip and play. They should be totally ashamed of their inept useless efforts this week and last. Dawes first three disposals completely destroyed any hope. Multiple Demons kicked straight to the opposition. They should be relabelled the pu$$ies. The way they play: indecision indecision indecision bad decision they deserve this label. Plus the constant pulling out on contests.

The younger players are not ready and the others mostly are second rate.

Agree Chook

We had enough opportunities but continually turned the ball over and couldn't convert.

The majority of the team are not 100% ready or not good enough

Am very disappointed

Brent Wallace. He was a shocking kid at school. Cheeky, unpleasant little brat and on todays showing will be another terrible umpire. Why should he be any different from the others?

Was he number 32? What a little pipsqueak. Little man syndrome in fine force today.

Our players have no idea where to position themselves. So often when we should be moving it forward there's 4-5 of us bunched together in the pocket and no one upfield.

I think we also broke the record for "Hospital handpasses" today.

I've asked this question quite a few times now and no one has been able to answer me: why will/would Jesse hogan stay with us? Someone convince me?

I'm more worried right now about his shite body language and lack of chasing.

Ollie Wines would have been handy today

It's not as if the club hasn't been given chances

I am not stating this to start an arguement.

It is a Fact...sadly

Wrong decisions bite back hard.

Anyone heard from our President?

Has he died quietly?

What would you like him to say or do?

presidents should be seen and not heard.

This.

This is gold, How about "we will never win 2 games in a row again" or " we will never beat the wooden spooner again"

We are beyond far ked.

What would you like him to say or do?

presidents should be seen and not heard.

How about " it's not good enough. I share your frustration"

Was he number 32? What a little pipsqueak. Little man syndrome in fine force today.

He was number 33, which is about his ranking amongst his colleagues. Some ordinary conveyances ahead of him.

Exactly! I am one who actually wasn't happy we won last week. In my opinion the win against the Lions helped to disguise some serious issues out of that game. Today those issues had no where to hide

Agree Anyone watching the past 2 weeks could not possibly think we would win today playing that brand of football

What would you like him to say or do?

presidents should be seen and not heard.

Ollie Wines would have been turned into a pu$$y by now if he was with us.

Dawes should be dropped. He is paid to be a full forward and elected to pop in to the square where all our player were out of position. I say bring in Jamar as our second ruck/forward. Him or Fitzy.

So much for pushing for a big second half of the year, we seem to be incapable of breaking out of negative mind sets once they've crept in.

Dawes' first 3 kicks were all unbelievably putrid. He dribbled a pass towards a leading Hogan, then he went across half forward and kicked it to the opposition instead of going towards goal, then he runs into goal and dribbles it wide from less than 20m. I always cringe when we recruit players from other sides dating back to the Ben Hollands of this world. Clubs usually dress up their trades and we get lumped with them.

Anybody see a shepherd.

Anybody see anger.

Anybody see heart.

Anybody see our blood.

Nope.

Just a lot of players who don't care.

I've asked this question quite a few times now and no one has been able to answer me: why will/would Jesse hogan stay with us? Someone convince me?

Sorry about your multi, Song....

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
