It is a disgrace for the club to come out and have a go at the longest suffering most loyal supporters in the competition for being negative.

Get stuffed, I pay $400 a year, and go every week to watch us play like a bunch of turds. If I want to be negative, it is my damn right and I will continue to be negative until this team can provide a semi-sustained period of mild success.

I'm not even asking for a flag, hell I'm not even asking for finals. I'm asking the team to come out every week and put in effort from minute 1 to minute 120. That is doesn't happen, is 100% the fault of the players and coaches. It has nothing to do with the fans.

To come out and use us as scapegoats to cover for a public slip of the tongue is a dumb move. Now watch them email me next month to pay up for 2016. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you poverty-stricken arse!

I think he should have stayed off the subject but what he said was minor until Jackson went into damage control and made it worse with his comments about Roos meaning the Members / Supporters. That is the point at which it hit the fan in a big way.

Jackson seems to have escaped criticism when IMO he is the one who made it far worse.

Needless to say the vast majority of us will carry on as usual if a bit more [censored] off than before.

Personally I think Roos meant his veil of negativity related to the whole club. I also believe he is completely correct. He was forced to back-pedal by a spineless board. They should all suck up the truth and help Roos do what he's doing. I'll say it again but you put another preseason into these guys, add Petracca, Kent, a fully fit Salem, Frost, a new recruit and a top 5 pick and our list will look 100 times better, I am astounded people are blaming Roos for speaking the truth about the wretched club he joined.

In my opinion the clubs greatest asset is it's members and supporters. So why would those in charge want to poke the bear?- however flippantly they might have done it.

For what its worth I do cut those in charge some slack - constantly. I'll always allow people to make some unforced errors.

I'm more thinking of those members and supporters who might end up being disaffected by the unfortunate comments. As always, it's about the bigger picture.

we've now had 7 players make their AFL debut for us. 7 kids! add to that the other few guys making their Melbourne debut and it is no wonder we are so inconsistent

whether we like to admit it or not, we are in year 2 of a fully-blown re-build. That is Roos' reality. Dees supporters reality is this is year 9 but we started at ground zero last year

unless we recruit 3-4 ready made senior players for next year we are no chance of playing finals. especially when you look at the teams that missed out this year

hopefully we continue to improve and win ~10 games next year. and us supporters will have to suck it up (again) and find some more patience (again!) and wait until Brayshaw/Trac etc are tearing it up in 2017

Yes, it's something I have fought with myself. Yes, we have brought in some experience but the changes have been so many and the predominant inclusions have been younger players.

To think that we will easily reach 30 changes to the list inside 3 years...

Yet look at how we played in the Richmond, Bulldogs and Geelong wins, and you'll see the opposite of what you're saying here.

The issue isn't whether the players are capable of playing tough, contested, physical football. They've shown they are. They problem is consistency. Whether that's between the ears or a physical thing, who knows, but we don't have the right on-field attitude weekly, which is a problem Roos needs to address.

Without the required Intensity we are going nowhere. Why cant Roos fix this basic part of a team sport
