The Walpiri Wizard bagged a lazy 6 and Aussie booted 2.

To me, there's a touch of sadness in that photograph. Three players who potentially had great careers in front of them when they started and only one came close to fulfilling their early promise. These games in a way serve as a reminder of this.

In any event, I'm not really a fan of players taking part in these one off exhibition games. It reminds me a little of how the great American athlete Jesse Owens used to run in exhibition races against horses when his career was over.

I accept that it's a bit of a money spinner for the players and the club and that it brings in crowds to country games but I still think it's sad.

Davey was a star! Rookie elevated gun that set the benchmark in forward pressure. Fulfilled his potential and then some i reckon!

I agree. LJ was probably the most naturally gifted player I've seen in Dee's colours. I just loved to go to the footy when he was playing. I miss that electricity.

To see the way Liam's life has panned out is tragic. I just hope that he can do something wonderful with the rest of it.

I would even put him as talented as buddy Franklin. I reckon if any of the off field stuff never happened we would all be talking about "that game he kicked 10 goals" Don't know what game it was but i remember in the first half he exploded and kicked 4 goals before half time. I thought easily he would have kicked a huge bag.

I've no doubt they had a great day, but as others have said it's a sad day for a Demon's fan as well. We see here what might have been for the club. Aaron Davey had a great career and more than repayed the faith the club showed in taking him as a rookie. Wona maybe wasn't the most talented small forward we've ever seen, but he was explosive and on his day devastating. Injuries and in the end inability to look after himself as a professional athlete cost him. Then there's LJ, who as has been said, was just an amazing talent. It's great that he's playing again, but realistically he's thrown away any chance of an AFL career and that is a loss to every fan of the game. To think that we could still have two of them playing for us if things had gone a little differently is just painful.
