Morton or Toumpas

Featured Replies

The footage of after the game, you could tell this meant a lot to Jimmy, lot's of little fist pumps to himself, he was pumped up.

I know it sounds corny, but I just felt really good for him. He has had a bad time of it, and to be involved in a big win and play a major role in it, you could see the confidence growing. And his confidence had looked completely shot to pieces in previous games.

I agree with your sentiment here. Look at his reaction after his second kick was finally paid a goal. The game was long over by then but you could tell he was thrilled with a "Yes, I've finally done it!!" thought.

Long way to go for him, as he needs to play near this level on a consistent basis. But I'm happy for him.

Cale morton had blinders!??

Bahaha now i have heard it all

Morton most certainly had blinders. He had 22 touches and 2 goals in his 3rd game at Kardinia Park, 26 and 3 against the Bombers the same year. 37 against the Dogs in 2009. He fell away quickly after that but your memory must be pretty short mate. Morton looked very good early on.

He is a nice lad but simply does not have any mongrel in him. Will be moved on along with Grimes who just doesn't have the natural ability to fire up!

oh, just wait til he loses his virginity, & grows whiskers :)

Go to 1:14... Toump putting his body on the line in defensive 50 and getting flattened in the process. Great courage and more proof hat the fools that allude to him being timid are clowns.

Your being way too kind calling them clowns.

If it was up to me id say to them.... nah better not..

Jimmy is tracking along find he just needs to play like that every game, iis just ridiculous what idiots expect from third year players, he has shown good signs, and he has one of the most important skill he is a dead i dick he knows where the goals are

Not sure why people open a thread to say crap thread? Do these same people walk into stores they don't like to say 'crap store?' Or visit newspaper companies they don't like to say 'crap newspaper'?

Some people need to get a life

That said ToumpAs game yesterday was the first semi solid game he has played and he definitely showed a bit. I'm hopeful he can now string a couple more together and really cement himself in starting 22 and look dangerous to the opposition.

glad you recognise that.

The title of the thread may be interpreted that toumpas is doomed to follow the same path that morton took - which many disagree with.

More like if I'm reading a newspaper and there's a crap Damien Barrett article about the Dees then I will let everyone in the vicinity know this is a crap article. Or more likely post a stfu Barrett somewhere.

You are Damien Barrett in this analogy.

Was comparing the output of our past 2 #4 draft picks and progression/how they tracked when put side to side.

A lot of people compare Toumpas next to Wines though I think it makes more sense to compare him against a player taken at the same pick and then developed at the same club.

A lot of people just like trawling thread to thread having huge sooks about threads (not mentioning any names) then contributing to the actual conversation.

This thread is like the Kramer -" it is a loathesome, offensive post. Yet I can't look away."

I think players mature and develop at their own pace so I think it makes senses to compare him to no one except himself. Compare next weeks efforts to last weeks effort.

Don't take it out on me that you have dumb opinions.

Don't take it out on me that you have dumb opinions.

Putting it very kindly there too.

I still have a sneaking suspicion there is more to it than that, though.

This thread was always bound for glory...

I just want to say that Toump was impressive on the weekend, and I truly hope he continues to produce the goods and prove the haterz wrong.

The Dees almost guarranteed Ollie Wines a spot, when the slime bag coach or whoever down at Demonland found out that Doupas didn't want to play for GWS we snapped him up along with his hip injury.Ain't we dumb f.cks.

irrelevant now, as we don't have wines we have toumpas.

man, watching macrae and stringer running around for the dogs has me hoping he can become a very good player; he was rated as a top 2 player for a long time.

his form of late has been very good tho, so here's hoping he keeps coming on.

Toumpas is becoming very good, and it's a disgusting the admins of Demonland let this post stay up. they should be ashamed of themselves..

I think it stands as a warning to all others, that posts of rampant stupidity will be remembered for a long long time.

No, you should be ashamed that you're anti free speech.

It's a stupid thread, Stu, but that's OK. I'll champion the rights of idiots to have a voice.

Look, I'm engaging you.

Free speech you wreckon, I am all for free speech but this post is a personal attack on one of our players obviously! And like I said before is a complete discrase! And the fact this crap has been able to continue reflects very poorly on how this page is managed! Secondly I will not be coming to demonland again. Toodooloos

Yes, but shouldn't you allow others to determine who are the crass and clueless ? People do have the ability to think for themselves.

I'm sure any over the top post would be deleted.

Simple solution.. Why don't we have both?

Eyes went straight to the player and didn't read the stuff above - couldn't work out why this player looked familiar...

Thank god Toump's mum and Morton dad never met!

Someone should be called to explain what has happened with ToumpAs. He was a solid junior and obviously his development has gone to [censored].

Right now I would have Morton ahead of Toumpas by a mile, was saw promise and good signs from Morton.

We havnt even had a glimpse of what Toumpas is supposedly meant to offer.

What's the go?

Morton or Toumpas ???

er', le` toumpa.... any week of the season

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
