Wada and rich young do not appeal losing cases, if this isn't sending shock waves through the efc and the afl it should be.

He always finds the culprit.

He has had a positive test: Saad got, what, 2y. Crowley is guilty , has been unbelievably stupid, and surely cannot expect one minute less. Where the hell did he get the stuff? Total brain fade, or, deliberate flouting of the law.

Wow. WADA are getting really serious. Do EssUndone read the news (other than that which flatters / excuses them)? This guy is the #1 prosecutor and would not have taken on a dud case. Can't wait.

I think WADA had to take on this case even if it isn't 100% watertight. Otherwise all a cheating team/country has to do is choose the appropriate drugs and not 'keep' records. (By appropriate I mean ones for which there isn't an immediate test)

Its probably only just starting to dawn upon a lot of people as to how serious a case this is. This now carries WADA's #1 priority . They arent mucking around, well , they never were , it was only our lame system of dealing with things that mucked anyone arond.

As it goes...TISM. WADA are pushing for absolute neutral ground for CAS to hear this. They will in all likelihood be granted exactly that and have it heard in Lausanne. . Any one that gets called can do so via video if need be, especially those that might not normally even be allowed into Switzerland !!

CAS wont muck around either. They without doubt will pick very experienced arbiters ( one already ) and this Appeal will be given the time and space its due to arrive at a fair and reasoned outcome. WADA arent stuffing around either having convinced Rich Young to go into bat for them. Heres the guy that wrote the book . Hes the guy that takes down the big ones. He would be the very last person you would want to see opposite you in these cases. If I were an Essendon player Id be very, very worried. If I was Hird or Little .....but then Im not and never could be...they will get theres in due course.

If I were Jobe Watson Id just hand back my Charlie with a sincere apology. If I were Tim Watson Id just shut the fcuk up for ever more ( do the world a favour )

I still want to see a Royal Commission. Its the only way that the likes of Vlad and Ando can be brought to answer for events they are partly responsible for. Its the only way the likes of Gill the Dill can be made to explain the way the League have corruptly acted in all of this.It would also have the necessary powers to call ANYONE and theres a few who are flying under the radar currently that shouldnt be. This whole thing needs sorting...not just the Bombers debacle.

This has been the case for some time. This is not a recent phomenum that WADA has seen this as an extremely important case. They have all along, and doubly so when the AFL and Essendon bully boys tried to incriminate them into dropping the case.

They simply do not understand the WADA/CAS mindset. The more they try the bully boy tactics, they more they are determined to ensure justice is done.

That is the absurdity of the Hird campaign tactics. It has from the beginning been a waste of time and money.

The things that's worries me is that there may be big bucks ready to protect the AFL's and Essendon's interests. I hope those who will be making the final decision are persons of true honour and integrity.

They are. absolutely.

Fresh supplies of brown corduroys to Windy Hill me thinks........

Rich Young to lead the case for WADA against Essendon

who's Rich Young ? well....

from the australian

"The lawyer who brought down notorious drug cheats Marion Jones, Floyd Landis and Lance Armstrong

will present the World Anti-Doping Agency’s case against 34 current and former footballers accused of

taking a banned peptide. "

"Richard Young, a US-based anti-doping expert who helped draft the original World Anti-Doping Code,

has agreed to prosecute the case against Essendon to be heard before the International Court of Arbitration

for Sport."

They're f$&;)d beyond belief!

I want them smashed. Not so much for the systematic doping regime they implemented (ok, well I do want them smashed for that), but for the stinking, lying, obstuctionist, 'we're Essendon and to accuse us of anything makes you an evil troll' attitude that they've had right from the first.

It's not that they did it that riles me up so much; it's the arrogant and insulted demeanour they have adapted to anyone dares suggest that they have a serious case to answer.

An aspect to this whole sordid affair is the amusement one can derive from observing how those staunch Windy Hilliers go about nay saying what must certainly to any other reasoned spectator loom as The Justice Train Cometh.

A lot of the fluff and rhetoric espoused by the EFC apologists , to me, seems to go to only one point this being the ability to prove the chain of delivery and hence the absolute that TB4 was THE injected compound. The great red and black hope has it seemed always revolved about this constraint. They see it as a moral outrage that they be hanged when no 'proof' exists. Curious for mine is they dont really ever bother to go to far to argue against there ever having been a programmed regime of guinea=pigging their players with cocktails of this'n' that . No, it's all about, well you cant show me an invoice that says TB4 !! Do they deny pushing an envelope ? Doesnt seem like it , they almost boast. Do they deny they enjoyed an advantage? Again..."gee our boys look solid eh!! " Were shady types of nefarious kinds involved with purloining these'substances" ? Oh my wordy wordy yes.

This lot of deranged fanatical kool -aiders arent really denying that anything wrong happened only that those that would have them accountable cant produce the smoking gun. There's little or no remorse amongst the lot of them in fact the opposite , a daring, skiting ridicule of anyone suggesting that what happened, happened. Much effort is taken by the Hird-Herd to discredit the evidence as it exists. "Circumstantial evidence" is not sufficient they say. Strangely almost to a one, none of them actually deny it is a form of evidence though. Circumstantial: "of or pertaining to an event, a circumstance"

Again I return to this idea that to them its not about what did or didnt happen , they seem to care less. It's about everything hinging upon showing TB4 existed at the club. It reminds me of that question. If a tree falls in the woods and no-one is there , did it make a sound ? To which the answer of course is yes. What the questioner wanted you to 'hear' was ...did anyone hear it as though thats the same. Its the inability to comprehend clearly that denotes the rabid Essendon apologist. Those that can see the forest for the trees and indeed are capable of reasoned deductions and who still barrack for Essendon must feel great shame, not just for the acts of their club but for the stupidity of many of their fellow supporters.

Doyle wrote Sherlock's logistical announcements and a favourite of mine is 'Eliminate all other factors, and the one which remains must be the truth.'

The apologists would have you believe that as no unequivocal document exists ( still..or does it ? ) that therefor it never occurred i.e the supply of TB4

To which the obvious question then is. If not TB4 , what, and show that IT indeed was sought, sourced and used because in the absence of any circumstantial evidence to support that assertion its highly unlikely that that was the case.

Its ironical to me that its this idea of an absence of 'proof' that is the keystone to the self style affront emanating from north of town as there is an entire absence of logic to what they counter. And still, its never been about ' we never did it" Ive never come across one Essendon supporter who wold have me believe it never happened only that in their minds how can anyone be sure just 'what" I find that incredulousness disturbing.

Ah yes BB, but can you apply your reasoned deduction to this question?

If a man says something in a forest and there's no woman there to hear it, is he still wrong?

I haven't won an argument with my wife in 37 years. Maybe I'll go and talk to myself in a forest somewhere and be right for a change. Or would I still be wasting my time? I can't work it out.

Yes, of course. is there even a question there? It is really simple: you are always wrong, no matter what. To paraphrase Yoda, there is no 'if' :o

This is already at 36 pages and could almost be a carbon copy of the old thread. I know it's fun to vent and speculate etc, but the only thing that I really want to know is this... is there a WADA/CAS timetable outlined for the process (for this case in particular) and if so, when is it likely to end?

Unlikely to get heard for about 5-6 months...under normal constraints. However there are provisions to expedite appeals if the powers that be so wish

other than that..have no idea until its announced

DP I reconsidered and removed my post.

It is a lie to say that they have been found innocent.

Their not guilty status is temporary. Hird took full responsibility and then denied any wrong doing. To say that they do not know what the players were given but it was not illegal and was good for them is an insult to the intelligence.

They are a blight on all Australian sports and sports people. Serious penalties need to be meted out and now I have no doubt that they will.

I did not say they have been found innocent just that they have not been found guilty and like you I hope that is a temporary status

I also said their protestations of innocence which I hope can also be found fallacious.

With serious penalties really the only option to regain lost respect for Australian athletes.
