The game is just plodding along as are much of the players. Vince is just getting run in his legs and looks far from the player he was last year. However it is his 1st game this year. Riley, Kent and Michie did nothing to warrant selection. JKH and Vandenberg look likely but need to be more consistent within the game itself. Brayshaw is the standout and is demanding a call up against the Gold Coast.

One more quarter to prove themselves. No wind to speak of.

JKH and Vandenberg might just be getting a hit out to confirm their spots even if one of them is the sub they'd be hard to leave out. Vince and Riley are first up. Disappointed the Kent hasn't shown you more and Michie's probably the real disappointment, he's fit, played in the preseason for MFC and should be tearing it up. He does do a lot of good work in close though which can be hard to see.

I get that funny feeling Paul Roos wont pick Brayshaw for round 1, but at this rate unless we beat Gold Coast he'll be straight in for round 2!

So Brayshaw has been best on ground in 2 of his 3 Casey games - and was still named in the bests for the third game.

He's a good chance for round 1, but I wouldn't be surprised if we held him back until round 4 or 5.

I would be annoyed if they did.

From a "coaching to win" perspective, late ina gave while up by less than a goal doesn't seen the time to unsettle your defense unless it really needs proactive changes to hold on.

From a "coaching to develop players" perspective, I would have thought that if you had just decided a player was now a defender and they are playing on that position for only the 2nd or third time, and that match was a practice match, then I'd want a pretty good reason to move the player away from getting the experience in the position I want him to learn.

Any thoughts behind this move?

Fitzy was playing ok at fullback. But casey were relying on their midfielders to score. They had no real target up forward. But if you are in front, don't know why their decided on that move. Perhaps they wanted to see if Fitzpatick would provide that target they were missing.
