Meh. I dont believe it was his choice to leave us. We were lucky we got decent compensation.

I wonder if we will ever hear the true story.

We didn't actually get "compensation"! We were just fortunate that our FD retained him on our list until 31 October, ensuring that the only way that he was going to end up at a Club of his choice was through a trade. An astute move by the MFC!

Clark, if fit, is the best full forward in the comp IMO - he is simply an absolute gun.

Lance Franklin goes alright.

Roughead, Hawkins, Walker, Schulz..

Clark kicks two in a row.

"Great story"

Someone pass the bucket.

On the Foxtel news site, Clark was apparently capable of "amassing two goals and nine touches in approximately three quarters of football." The story gets greater and greater.

Not sure if there is a dedicated thread already.

Watched the Bris vs St K game and while there were a lot of basic rusty errors, I've got to say that I like the look of Brisbane. The inclusion of Beams and Christensen will be a big plus. McCartin led well and looks smooth.

Any thoughts on the other matches?

lots of errors in all games I thought

I have to admit after all the injuries so far, I'm scared to watch our match on Thursday. I've got Foxtel and have already set it to record the game, but I don't think I can handle watching it live.

Mitch gave off a couple of very quick handballs which resulted in goals.

I thought he moved well, and seemed to work well with Hawkins....they didn't fly for marks together.

Nauseating.

Meanwhile I enjoyed seeing Frawley concede a goal due to a judgment error, just like he did once or twice week with us.

He didn't seem to do much else, though I didn't see the whole game.

I think he'll struggle to get a game at Hawthorn this season, but perhaps they've got 2016 in mind, when Lake will probably be gone.He might not make the grade.

The first was an absolute gimme

The second was the only decent thing he did for the day I gather

No..He looked like a player who hadn't had played a game for two years but one thing was apparent. He knows how to make space, how to lead up and when to drop back and how to be in the game - he got clear repeatedly - it was his hands that were rusty and let him down - dropped some gimmes and fumbled.

To me, the only thing stopping him being a very good pick up for Geelong is his history of his body letting him down.

On Frawley - injuries aside - he will play every game this year

I agree during play, but between I thought he had a slight limp on several occasions.

I thought he was moving very freely (just not match fit yet)... perhaps yours was a case of "wishful viewing" MD? ;-)

North: absolute flogs and absolute pretenders.

And winners over a pretty much full strength Hawks.

They won? Hmm. Meaningless I suppose. Would be delicious to see Hawthorn fall apart this year when everyone expects a threepeat.

Oh we can only hope. A few injuries would help but apparently they are at full strength even with 10 or more players on the wrong side of 30! How do they do it?

Clark just kicked his third goal with 6 minutes to go in the first quarter!!

Clark looks in amazing touch, if he stays fit he will absolutely kill it this year.......still a dog though.

I am extremely confident he will burn the Cats too, so not too worried.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
