Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Its unbelievable how much Petraccas body shape has changed. He is looking big ad ripped now! Already bigger then half our midfielders.

Give it 3 years and he will be looking like O Meara from GC

Great pics Thanks

I have been reading some research on salmingrunning.com about aspects of footwear and effects on the body,(feet, legs, knees, hips). One of the things that is mentioned is the effects of heel strike and overstriding.

Many of the pics particularly those when in kicking action show both these factors. There is a shot of Jones kicking and retaining a moderate stride and mid foot contact.

It might be just a small thing but its the detail that your great shots show 666 .

One of the papers evidenced that cushioning of the heel through footwear advances has not reduced injury and may lead to complaceny and lack of consideration of technique. At elite and high performance level these small matters can make a difference.

Hope the correct running and movement techniques are being applied with our footwear supplier and through close appraisal by our fitness, health and coaching staff.

You are opening Pandora's box with that one Demon16!

Ha - yeh sorry, I'm not going into that territory.

I only used that comparison because Wines is the biggest bodied midfielder drafted in recent years that I can think of. Also has those tree trunk thighs that Petracca has.

Anyway point being that Petracca really does look like a beast already.

Daniel Rich, another one with many tears shed over on here

It was in the paper the other day the Club intends to trim down Petracca to a playing weight of between 88 and 90k, he was 98k on arrival

I would have thought that 88kgs might be too slim, given his natural physique.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if he's already down 4 or 5 kgs from 98. He's big but you can already see he's ripped up a bit since arriving.

Yes but he wimped out of the guns photo haha...think because of his personality, he has become a bit of a target amongst the players, but seems to take it all in his stride, no when I first spoke to him he thought himself he was carrying too much weight was just waiting to see what the club thought

By comparison, Rich is listed as 183 cm and 84 kg, Dangerfield is 185 and 91, Wines at 187 and 94 and Colin Sylvia is 186 and 85 - but I find that one hard to believe.

If Petracca is 188 cm, I would have thought 92-93 kg would be a good weight for his playing style. You would want him to maintain that burst and power he uses so well.

Anyway, TDI could you please explain what you meant by him being a target amongst the players because of his personality?

His mention of the 'fines' he had incurred since he first started, they love winding him up, he has a bright and bubbly personality so is not the type to sulk

Gawny used to be a similar target

Ah ok - just general banter because he's fun to play with type thing.

Nice one - he'll be popular in the group you'd hope, just like Gawn.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
