Match Day Experience - time to lift our game

Would 'Our Kylie' singing I Should Be So Lucky do it for you obbafan? Maybe Joe Dolce doing Shuduppa Ya Face?

Facetious I hope. .

Midnight Oil, Hunters and Collectors, Dan Sultan, Paul Kelly the Loved Ones and on and on.

Why do I have to listen to English and US music prior to a game of AUSTRALIAN Rules Football?

Not to mention the royalty payments.

Isn't Jim Keays a demon fan? Something from Masters Apprentices?

Isn't Jim Keays a demon fan? Something from Masters Apprentices?

Wasn't...unfortunately Jim passed away last year.

AC/DC, INXS, Nick Cave (in various bands - try Red Right Hand), David Bridie (an MFC supporter) and My Friend the Chocolate Cake, Daddy Cool, Augie March, Cruel Sea, Custard, the Church, Died Pretty, DIG, The Dingoes, the Go-Betweens and on and on.

We do not need to have Bon Jovi crap and the like imposed upon us as we await the game.

And Paul Kelly was an MFC supporter prior to the advent of the Crows who stole his Adelaide heart.

His articles in the Age during the 1987 finals run are some of the best writings from a supporter's point of view ever published.

splendid moonie. building up to tie me kangaroo down

oh, hang on...

I'm not sure about the need for pre-game music...but if it were needed, 'Turn Up Your Radio' by the Masters Apprentices has the driving beat and sound that would suit the occasion. Pity the lyrics don't match. (And what's not to like about big hair, flares and in and out camera zooms).

Why revise it? Its a classic

Yep. You cannot better those Mullet hair cuts.

Fabulous Stuff as Gibbo would say...

And at the half time break I want to see these guys pumping it out while steins of larger are distributed amongst the crowd... free admission if you wear your lederhosen!

The only revision I would give Come on Demons would be a little less eighties synth, bit more guitar. Keep the vid and the lyrics. Absolutely brilliant

I reckon a revised version of this classic would get the crowd pumped.

Holy Mary mother...that's really terrifying!

Guys, sorry to use this forum for the purposes of shameless self promotion, but I have created a Facebook Group dedicated to bringing together Melbourne Demons fans through Social Media. It is not a forum page, although we will run polls and invite people to share opinions on issues where appropriate.

I hope it will serve as a platform for fans to make connections with other suporters and serve as a 'Social' forum. If you love the Dees, I ask you to give us a like on FB - We are 'The Red & Blue Heart Beat' - https://www.facebook.com/deesfans

Mods, I hope you don't mind me posting this here, if it is against any Board rule, please remove

hrrrmm, curious as it is doing that for me now as well https://www.facebook.com/deesfans

It seems to be fixed now HT, lemme knw if you still have problems. I only launched the page yesterday evening, so I would be grateful if you could invite as many Demonlanders to join.

One of the things I feel our club has lacked for a long time was a strong social club/group, I am not saying i can change this overnight, but with all of your help I want to create a strong social group of Dees fans that meet after games for a beer, share tales of days gone by and get Club news on a daily/weekly basis.

I appreciate any support you can give 'Landers

thank you and appreciate any feedback. I dont want to be a page that floods people everyday with content, although regular posting keeps you relevsnt.

Hells Bells playing with thrusts of fire all around the ground like Storm do, and some dancing girls called The Demonettes in skimpy costumes with a Devils tail and Tridents, which they can spin around like the expert gymnasts do with the poles.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
