Jeremy on the move?

Had a great year down back - dont agree in regards to letting him go . Crazy talk

Totally serious, I had him at Freo, until Hawthorn stepped at the last minute, which was after the Grand Final

He may well have been undecided about which long term lucrative offer from a premiership contender he was going to accept before the end of the season. But i very much doubt he was undecided about whether he was going to leave or not before the end of the season. He was gawn from the moment he put talks on hold.

But i guess if you think other wise you're probably right - coz you do have the ear of the players.

I don't believe I said I wanted to trade him deeko.

Just making the. Observation that all players are tradable in the 21 century of A F L.

I did say I would prefer to keep him.

No you definitely didn't old dee, I did read your quote and Dr Gonzo's who I quoted.

Wasn't meaning to have a crack and apologies if I came across like that.

I do get a bit grumpy when people are happy to offload our players who show talent (in my opinion, I know not necessarily yours) now that we surely have better structures in place for them to improve.

I understand where you are coming from in regards to the belief that everyone is tradable. The romantic inside me just doesn't want to believe it yet.

If Howe had the chance to knock it back it meant that we agreed on the deal.

not necessarily

Nah.

GWS: We offer you pick 7 for Jeremy Howe.

MFC: Hmm. We'd better see what he thinks about that. Hey Jeremy's manager, would Jeremy consider a move to GWS?

Manager: I'll ask. Hey Jeremy, how would you feel about a move to GWS?

Howe: Yeah, nah.

Manager: He said, "yeah, nah."

MFC: Sorry, not happening. And next time, maybe come to us a little bit sooner so everyone's actually got time to think this through?

For every Chip Frawley and Tom $€u££¥ there's a Chris Grant.

name 20 others players THEN there's a Chris Grant

I asked posters who had him signed up at Geelong etc why would he do that.

It was obvious that he had multiple suitors from the get go - according to the media they all raised the hands and said yes please,

Scully (who snuffed out all my childish naivety) had one suitor who offered him Fort Knox - that he signed very early on ? Probably yes.

Why would Frawley sign early when he had been average for two season yet clubs were still clambering to get him ? You would let the dutch auction go on until the very end. I am in your court TDI.

The only thing I do think is that his thinking early on was that he was going - just not sure to who.

I will meet you three quarters of the way. Once he put his talks on hold ( like Cloke) he was not committed to staying and was signalling " let the games begin - I am up for a move"

"Yeah nah."

The most ridiculous saying in today's society.

GWS: "so Jeremy, wtf is it going to be?"

That is us agreeing to that deal.

hope your tongue was firmly in your cheek there !!

hardly worth that amount is he

Absolutely, Howe is a good player but he's not $650k value. If GWS offered him that I would not begrudge him taking advantage of their stupidity

Ok I spoke to Howie at training this morning, told him what was going on in the media, he hadn't seen any of it, spent the morning just relaxing before training

The Pick 7 was on the table for him just before the end of Trading

He rejected the move, yes I asked his permission to post that here, he says to assure supporters he ain't going anywhere

Quality post, not sure if you'll fit in here.

It's not. It's us considering it and finding out whether there's any point in continuing to consider it.

Considering it isn't agreeing to it.

nor is informing a player (or his manager) of an offer from another club

It's agreeing that he is tradeable.

And that isn't saying much, there are only about 5 blokes that are untradeable.

Quality post, not sure if you'll fit in here.

That is Satryconhome (sp).

There is ample evidence to decide whether he fits in.

It's agreeing that he is tradeable.

And that isn't saying much, there are only about 5 blokes that are untradeable.

it's not necessarily agreeing he is tradeable

i think these days it is just courtesy to inform a player - they will find out anyway

and it is very possible the other club could have informed the player's manager

If he is unsure he wants to stay after all the investment the Club has made in quality coaches etc.

Then there is only one solution.

See you later and thanks for all the good times.

Next Player please!

I told Howie. 750K a season was being quoted, he was shocked, all players only have one go at this, as long as a player gives his all for the team during the season I don't care if they get an offer they can't refuse and take it, it's not like any of us have never changed jobs for a better deal

I try to explain to posters on here, been chatting to the players for a few years, always treat them with respect, I asked him straight, after explaining the media coverage and the four pages on here, I respect what he told me, of course this does not mean in the future circumstances will change, I asked his permission to post his comment about knocking back the move and he told me to assure posters he has no intention of leaving.

As I put with Frawley, same with him, I don't believe he had decided to go any time during the season or when I asked him, this was all done post the season

I spent 10 minutes talking to Nev Jetta today, but respect what he tells me and not to repeat or post anything he wouldn't want me to

Mate Frawley had packed his bags during 2013.

Interestingly Paul Roos and Jade Rawlings don't agree with yours or OD's assessment of Howie

Roos publicly stated after round 23 that everyone was on the trade table so yeah, actually, it seems he does agree.

I'm not saying we should delist him but if we can get something for him that will improve us more than he can then we will look at it as he is one of the few commodities on our list with value. If we could get Shiel for instance we would be stupid to say "yeah, nah".

With the additions of HL & SF I would be surprised if Howe wasn't played further up the ground next season. We will only be able to get a true assessment of what he is worth in the latter parts of next season.

He brings the "x factor" to demons, no other player has that.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
