Is it correct that Hird did his nav twice?

Sort of did it twice.

Went to germany to get calfs blood and turtle juice.

What are you trying to say ?

I would have thought the reality of Jacks position is that he wont be available for the entire 15 season

Do i hear any dissenters ?

If thats the case then what good does he really do on the senior list, even if LTI. The reality also is if he doesnt come up he'll be let loose at the end of 15.

What if you were to do a deal whereby he did step down , in whatever fashion is required and he is picked up as a rookie but given a 2 year deal.. I couldnt see any other club taking on the risk, theres just too many others to choose from. If he does come good he's a cert for elevation if he doesnt he falls off the list as it were.

Whilst I'm all for looking after your blokes theres a balance somewhere between responsible and pragmatic.

Surprised no-one has picked up on this. Basically confirms that the Trengove to Richmond deal wasn't just speculative, it was all but finalised.

"After the Armitage approach was rejected Richmond set its sights on Trengove but that deal fell through when scans revealed he had more damage to his foot.

“We were all set to go in a lot of ways but the last scan just showed that it wasn’t looking quite as good as first thought,” Richardson said.

“We were disappointed about that because we did put a bit of work into that and Jack was, I think, pretty keen to come to the Tiges.”

I believe it failed & he (Hird) was at his wits end. I have a feeling I remember something like he found some locals with magic potion, & then eventually he got back to playing successfully.

It all works both ways. In many ways it always has, just there are some exceptions.

We owe Jack due respect and help with his injury. We DONT owe him a career per se, Fair opportunity perhaps, Guarantees ?? I wouldnt have thought warranted

Has anyone asked why we didn't know the full extent of his injuries and were just as shocked as Richmond when they were discovered? Has anyone explained this?

After playing on this injury for as long as he has, I'm not surprised that its not completely healed... I'm sure if Trengove is given more rest and rehabilitation time, then he'll over come this and get back to his best... I understand that we need our talented players to perform now, but this injury needs a patient approach.. If we rush he treatment and recovery again, then it's more than likely we'll never see him at his best... He's still very young and if we can move him to the rookie list, then we should put him on ice for two years and slowly build he back up...

Trengove at his best will be worth the wait...

Personally I wouldn't have traded him or even considered trading him, regardless of the depth of his injuries... I agree that we don't owe him a career or a guarantee of success, but we do owe him our loyalty and patience... He backed us in and I'm more then happy to back him in...

In original description of reinjury surgical review was said to be yesterday .

No update , could mean further opinions sought or more detailed radiology organized .

I suspect however long term prognosis is not great

I am wondering whether Trengove wanted to go to the Tigers initially or felt betrayed that the Demons after being approached by the Tigers were willing to trade him.

I guess if you the club only values you 9 places in the ND then why would you want to stay with your club. Therefore he was resigned to joining the Tigers and told them he was looking forward to joining a club that actually wanted him.

What happens now at the end of 2015, when he is out of contract. Will we offer him another contract if his foot is better, or will he say stuff you, I want to go somewhere else.

I would say his faith in the Demons has been shattered and he will leave at the end of next year.

Do you blame him?

Yeah I'll just read 49 pages then

Not sure we will ever see this

Either he won't get to the level due to injuries taking their toll or if he does it won't be in a red and blue jumper

I almost shat myself thinking Trenners had again re-injured his foot when seeing this thread bumped. Luckily I was on the toilet as I read it.

What a rubbish post to bump this thread.

Jumped when I saw it then realised it's an old thread bumped...time for this one to be shut down I think.

'it', doesn't hurt,  to reread our thoughts of Trenners potential trade,  back at that time.

#edit:  but maybe the title could be updated by the OP ?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
