Another ordinary player who gets a game because the players behind him in the queue are even worse. As with Dom Barry, a player who was inexplicably given a two year contract early in the season - the reasons for this continue to elude me, as he would seem to be ripe for delisting at the end of next season.

IMO - Can still improve to the required AFL level, wins one on ones and shows pace, needs to tidy up kicking and gets hands on the footy a bit more. Can still make it.

His work rate is superb, his disposal less than ordinary.

At probably 16 other clubs he'd be midfield depth; at ours, he's been regular 22 for two seasons. Scary.

Jones work rate is one of the reasons he has racked up so many games in his first 2 seasons. His disposal let him down at times, and is one of his major flaws. If Roos is aggressive at the trade table, Jones might be a name thrown up to send back salary on an incoming deal. Jones may stay on at the MFC, and probably will start the season in the best side. Competition will come for spots, meaning the Matt Jones will have to work on his game to get a spot.

Which says that our list is still a way off.

The sooner these kinds of blokes are off the list, the better.

We can't be carrying players who have one elite non-football skilled specific attribute and expect to consistently improve as a side.

It just won't happen.
