Patrick Dangerfield

Just to state the bleeding obvious, if Danger had agreed to terms what on earth would we be waiting for? Friday? Why? And why would we bother running a PR campaign throughout trade week offering our best picks for trade if that player had signaled his interest to join us?

Just stating the obvious I guess but this trade seems so very, very unlikely.

One way of dropping a line while we wait for some draft action.

perhaps we're just not using the right bait ?

New coach trying to talk him around onto a new contract @ AFC ?

New coach trying to talk him around onto a new contract @ AFC ?

Bit hard if Danger is in Victoria unless a phone conversation is enough nowadays.

Either way he's starting with a brand new coaching group at the start of 2015. A premiership coach and his former captain looks more appealing on paper at least.

I see no Demon is in the International Rules team just announced, so no danger of injuries. Unless.........

Australian squad: Grant Birchall, Travis Boak, Luke Breust, Patrick Dangerfield, Dustin Fletcher, Nat Fyfe, Brendon Goddard, Robbie Gray, Brent Harvey, Luke Hodge, Kieren Jack, Steve Johnson, Jarrad McVeigh, Sam Mitchell, Leigh Montagna, Nic Naitanui, Nick Riewoldt, Tom Rockliff, Joel Selwood, Brodie Smith, Nick Smith, Harry Taylor, Jobe Watson, Chad Wingard.

Because Danger is fishing at Mogg's Creek until late on Friday and is out of contact until then ...:blink:

I refrained from checking it for a few days and then saw the explosion of posts, so thought it might be time to check again.

I feel dumber for having done so.

Yeah, it's a red herring.

Boom-tish!

Firstly - I don't think he has agreed to anything

But you do understand that because he is not a free agent nominating a club means jacksh1t. We have to satisfy Adelaide to get him out. Ryder has nominated Port and Essendon have said - fine - give us 3 top ten draft picks and Kochy's first born or he goes nowhere. This is a special case because Essendon players may take their club to court if they don't allow them trade out. But Stevens from Port to Collingwood was another one who nominated when he was becoming out of contract but Port played hard ball and threw him into the PSD and he ended up at Carlton.

Stating you want to go somewhere unless you are a free agent is nothing more than a players request for you to deal with a club and hopefully get a trade done - it guarantees nothing.

Except any two-bit player that is in his first year thinks it his God given right to nominate the club of their choice. And strangely enough they mostly get there...

Who needs free agency....

I imagine the bummers playing brave hardball over Ryder, maybe because they're worried about a player avalanche.

So much carp to trawl through

Come on be original!

What a disappointing thread this is. :P Wake me up when Dangerfield signs. ;)

Ok Rip Van Winkle

LUNAR ECLIPSE AROUND 9:30

Every good fisherman knows that the best fishing days are during a fullish moon. And around lunar eclipse on a full moon makes for very auspicious fishing.

Edited by america de cali

Danger was reported to have said that if he can catch a massive 2kg plus salmon right on 9.30 and the lunar eclipse he will join us.

The dees would really scale new heights if we got Dangerfield

It would really re-jigg our list

It would be in line with Gill M's equalisation strategies.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
