GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Featured Replies

If he wants the best deal for us why is he shopping himself around at all- should just be we tell him where he goes because that's where we brokered the best deal. It was just a throw-away line from his manager obviously

Exactly.

And especially when his choice is between Geelong and Collingwood - two successful, well-financed clubs in Melbourne.

If he had any ethics whatsoever he goes where MFC get the best deal out of those two.

I'm well over him.

in all honesty. How do we know ( treachery aside ) that hes not doing this ?

Im over him as well but have a sneaky feeling we're running this.

I know it's not the point, but that would be Geelong anyway.

I'm relieved it's not Collingwood. The deal might actually get done in a reasonable time frame now. It's bad enough that we're going to have to deal with the Pies for Lumumba.

Seriously ??

Hmmmmmm

bb do you remember us being howled down around ten months ago for suggesting MC would not play another game for the MFC?

Hmm does not look as though you are as big a dill as suggested by some at the time.

OH by the way where are the MC lovers at present?

Yay, the "I told you so" brigade. Predict the worst every time, and you'll be sure to get one right.

Give it a rest.

first thing Monday. No BS, will be done and both clubs move onto other matters.

Is that Clark for Varcoe?

awwwwww

I'd take a straight swap for Varcoe.

Varcoe is only 26, has upside.

I'd take Varcoe before Lumumba - who is 28 next month.

You say it like we had a choice between the 2...... But the choice was made by Clark, not us dingaling

Better Geelong than a Carlton or Footscray.

The guy is damaged goods. We don't want to price ourselves out of the market...

Clark for Josh Walker anyone? Looks reasonable from what I've seen him and surely Clark will be taking his spot

WHY DO THESE MELBOURNE FOOTBALLERS KEEP [censored] ON JIM STYNES MEMORY .. FIRST SCULLY LIES TO HIS FACE NOW CLARK LEAVES TO GO TO GEELONG.... IM OVER FEELING BAD FOR HIM NOW GOES TO A CLUB WHO WILL NOT GIVE US ANYTHING DECENT FOR HIM AT LEAST WITH THE PIES WE COULD GET LUMUMBA FOR F ALL

Take a deep breath and relax. It's not personal, Clark is not defecating on Jim's memory.

He's just a not very bright guy, doing what's best for himself without consideration for much else.

Won't happen. Did you see how he played in that final this year? Starting to find form. Grandfather is also a champion of the club. Won't happen.

if anyone suggest Smedts for Clark, i will put my fist through my computer screen in attempt at punching you in the face. He is a chop.

We gave ups first rounder for Clark. We need something good in return.

Smedts was a first round pick as well. Pick 15 in fact. If you look at their respective contributions and reputations it's actually a pretty even trade.

You do know we could get nothing for him. He can walk away as a delisted Free agent after 31/10 list lodgement. Geelong doesn't have to deal with Melbourne, Clark would like them to to try and leave with guilt free but we will be shafted we will get nowhere near what we paid out

He can't be a FA of any sort. This has been well and truly established. He's either trade bait or going to the draft.

Definitely think we should play hard ball with him and Geelong, we get the deal we want or he goes in the draft. I believe the AFLPA and co have said that he won't be a "delisted free agent" so he can't walk to his favoured club. I'm sure there are plenty of clubs that would pick him up for free who are below the cats. If MC is genuine on his desire to get Melbourne compensation than it'll be up to him to make sure a deal gets done.

I don't think there's a better choice in clubs, either way it doesn't sit right.

Cant ppl see whats happening. ??

Mitch wanted out or we wanted Mitch out.

Spin merchants go into overdrive. Club as tight as a ..... No leaks...no bad press for club. MFC works with Clark to find new home with good reward to us.

This happens. ..spin doctors get out again to sell the thing so appears all done for whatever reasons as suits the end game.

MFC come away with as good a result as can be....all keep face...etc etc.

Ppl need to step back and look. Put emotional colouring aside.

This trade just has to happen, so I hope the club doesn't waste a bunch of time 'negotiating' our deal with Geelong at the expense of the deals we actually want to get through.

As CIP has said will happen: get the deal done, no BS. It's been the way Roos teams have approached the trade tables before and will be again. Geelong are the same.

So angry at this development, The AFL is turning into the Premier League, where the good clubs get better and the clubs down the bottom get shafted, It's a joke, if we don't improve soon our good players will just nominate a club they want and they will go there.

Cannot alter the fact he never played another game Nasher.

Paint it any way you want bb was correct

Although thinking about it, don't underestimate how much strain will be on his body changing from training on his own to a full pre season, with the soft tissue injuries already his hamstring/calf could just snap again and he will be useless to Geelong. Not to mention his foot injury

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
