Post Match Masochism - Round 21

I am going to buy a ticket in Thursdays lotto hopefully if I win I can buy a new Melbourne fc

I wouldn't waste my winnings on this pathetic, lazy, heartless mob..get rid of over rated players like Dawes and Frawley would be a good start..Money wasted..Dawes couldn't mark couldn't pick up the ball and couldn't beat his opponent at any time one on one..Frawley just as bad..

Paul Roos ; your opponents became crippled by lack of rotations and options and yet still manufactured a flogging. . YOU were out-coached, but you're supposed to be accomplished .

Our list is rubbish but you know this and I expect you to allow for this in your coaching. You're accountable. That was pathetic

We got the wrong coach. A non committal, defensive strategist who from day one at Sydney took over a decent team. You either want to coach on a rolling contract or you don't. I don't care who you are, you cannot pick when you will walk away from your club. If the coach isn't committed, why should the players be. From day one, Roos has referred to the playing group as 'them'. When we are poor, he blames the previous heirachy's failings. No accountability. I suspect Paul is keen to leave now, scared of losing his reputation as a great coach. Which he is not. Great coaches teams play great footy.

After the last home and away game let Melbourne play Casey giving Nathan Jones a day off as he is possibly the only player worth keeping.

Then look at the talent in the Swans, Hawthorn and Geelong VFL teams and probably get many of our new players from them.

It is so depressing!

I just can't believe we beat tiges, blues, dons and crows.

It just doesn't make sense.

they all kicked poorly against us and we had less scoring shots than all 4 teams in each game

Fluke wins

We are still as bad as 2012/13

Me too. To my 4 kids, I am so sorry. At least I had Flower, Shwartz, the Wiz, Neita, Jurrah. My kids get nothing.

It's like a never ending torture that the team you loved as a kid is an embarrassment to your children.

Went today with my seven year old daughter. She can't understand how we can lose by so much on our home ground to gws. Honestly, I can't either.

I don't see a future for the mfc or a way forward. We have steadily deteriorated over his year. There is no hope, no spark. Nothing that I can honestly say gives some semblance of hope.

and Paul Roos is an average coach who was made to look great thanks to a COLA inflated salary cap

Now I'm going to take a swipe at some players. Look away if you are inclined to defend the indefensible.

MacDonald... your inability to pump the ball towards goal when you were in position to do so in the first quarter is a signal to the opposition that you are a limited footballer!

Dawes... give us more than a long run towards the ball carrier!

Frawley... get whatever you can from the player transfer rules because your best days are surely behind you!

We didn't win a home game at the MCG all year

That's the trouble with when they turn seven. Even a rudimentary understanding of counting makes a cover up nigh impossible.

Let's look on the bright side guys. Very good chance we will have picks 2,3,4

And we won the inside 50 count.

We didn't win a home game at the MCG all year

consistency.......worth 1,5

would help him frawley clean out his locker

We need picks 1 to 10 ..at LEAST..Not joking..!!!!

Roos just needs to trade for picks and develop a fresh crop

Petracca, brayshaw, Ellis and stretch is a good start

Hang on thats not fair. He did switch Chip and Dunn after half time.

We are still every chance of winning the spoon even if Stkilda don't win another game! Eagles n Roos will feast on the carcass we have become!

Oh well English Premier League is back thank Faaahhc! My family deserves better than my selfish obsession of supporting such horrible almost unwatchable tripe!

I just can't believe we beat tiges, blues, dons and crows.

It just doesn't make sense.

Those teams would be cursing those losses pretty much all of them will see it as costing them a finals spot.

I wasn't even that angry today, nowhere near 186 levels of disgust - I think I'm just completely desensitised to the MFC now, couldn't even be bothered yelling out or booing the team like so many others were doing to vent their frustration. I was sitting there in between laughs and cracking jokes at our expense with my brother just trying to figure out how this club can ever turn it around. It's gonna take a full decade of list turnover and development - when guys like Gawn, Tyson, Viney & Salem are our senior/mature players we may have a chance at a flag until then I think all we can hope for is to be around where Richmond is in about 4-5 years.

Let's look on the bright side guys. Very good chance we will have picks 2,3,4

They could give us all top ten picks but it wouldn't make a bl@@dy difference.

Look at the lions last night... Not many top ten picks but gee they have a red hot dip... Why? There are standards and each player has the guts to look each other in the eye after a game and say they gave their all... Our mob are just pathetic, mollycoddled princesses.

Wow, this must be bad. The anti Roos club is occurring already.

He's not exactly proving the doubters wrong..

People saying it's Paul Roos fault have no idea! How many coaches can this mob burn! I put it on the culture of our club! When things get tough we go pack up shop. Judge Roos after his 3 years!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
