  1. Well the statistics show that St Kilda did a lot more short kicks than us. Against Port Adelaide we just continually banged it up to a very crowded full forward and hoped someone marked it. This is how we consistently fail to score against good teams and poor teams for that matter. We just never beat St Kilda and Hawthorn and ……. Perhaps a team from Darwin could represent us?
  2. After the last home and away game let Melbourne play Casey giving Nathan Jones a day off as he is possibly the only player worth keeping. Then look at the talent in the Swans, Hawthorn and Geelong VFL teams and probably get many of our new players from them. It is so depressing!
  3. Melbourne's game plan has not changed this year! Step 1 Handball to a fellow player close to an opposition player. Step 2 If he still has the ball, handball to another fellow player close to another opposition player but ensure the ball is still in the same area it was at the start. On no account go forward nor kick the ball to a free player but simply ensure ball continues to go round in a small circle until an opposition player tackles you and takes the ball away. If that looks unlikely kick it backwards. Step 3 If you happen to receive the ball with no opposition player in sight, stop look around, run a couple of slow steps but don't attempt to handball until the opposition player has tackled you. Step 4 Don't play on when a fellow player is free. Wait until the oopposition player has caught up then kick the ball. It is so depressing and I believe any person on this forum would have a better game plan than what we saw today (and every other week).
  4. We play Sydney next week and whilst we may struggle a bit it is not that long ago that we beat them in Melbourne one Sunday afternoon. Let’s hope Goodes doesn’t play. I think our fitness could be a problem based on the last quarter.
  5. Some weeks ago I suggested that Melbourne’s player skills were not that bad and indeed would be much better if we had a different coach to Neeld or our players suddenly played for another club. As a consequence some of this website’s members inferred or even suggested I was both an idiot and too negative about the then current administration One needs to realise that our players came from the same VFL background as every other AFL player so their skills should not be too different from any other AFL players. Remember Port Adelaide were hopeless last year and look what has happened to them with a different coach. Yes we still have problems and our skills could be better but watch out if we have a decent coach with a proper game strategy. Go Melbourne!!
  6. OK so Melbourne does not want to pay out Neeld because we’re broke. Here’s the solution! We are on top of the ladder in the VFL (shock, horror) so swap coaches! Let Casey’s coach be our coach until the end of the year and Neeld can try and coach Casey! Why not?!
  7. If ANY of our players were suddenly put into the Geelong team, I am sure their skills etc would be AFL standard. No we don't need a total change in players, we just need a coach and support staff who know what they are doing!
  8. 100 points down - yeh come on get happy - the partridge family could make us smile!
  9. how many goals do we have to lose by to get a new coach??
  10. davey , you got it right -kick points!
  11. Great kick Dawsie. You know the game plan - kick points!
  12. Strewth we got a goal - stop trying fellas. We want a new coach!
  13. Thank God -Hawthorn is starting to thump us. New coach coming real soon. Great! We might even win a match. Perhaps he could tell wattsie to get the ball wherever it is!
