GAME DAY - Round 19

TYSON!

Finally, a goal! After the three quarter time siren, but it counts.

7 point lead at the final change (we won the quarter by 2 behinds).

Everyone paid that holding the ball except the umpire.

Even the Brisbane player stood the mark.

What an absolutely massive goal kicked on the 3qtr time siren.

How was that dropped ball not a free kick???????????

Ridiculous decision. As soon as he was tackled it was dislodged, and for 100 years + that's been dropping the ball. They don't pay it anymore and it makes the game look stupid.

Good finish from Tyson, we just need to keep up the intensity and we win the game.

I don't get to see every game of every round but this has to be, hands down, the worst game of the year. Get absolutely [censored]!!!! Is Riley taking the mickey out there?

Thank god for Tyson, all class!

Go Dees!

Funnily enough, this is the best time I've had watching us play in a while. But if we lose, my joy will turn to ashes in my mouth.

well done Dom

but holy [censored], our kicking for goal is pathetic... should be up by 30+ points

Funnily enough our kicking for goal this year, on the whole, has been terrific. Our wins this year have all seen us kick really well for goal. It's no excuse now but not every team can do it week in, week out.

Jones has been fantastic in the clinches all day today.

I cannot believe that Rohan Bail just kicked that. That's 9.3 for him this year from set shots. Surely that can't be right. I thought he was a total spud!!!

Dog spoil from Merret there. Can no longer question Cam Pedersen's courage in the slightest.

Alestair Lynch is barracking for the Lions so hard.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
