a lot of top end talent has gone to the suns and Giants, makes it fairly hard for teams like us to rebuild when that's going on, mind you it's not an excuse, our development and recruiting hasn't been too great, although it seems to be picking up now

its not the talent, its the lack of space. there isn't enough talent in the whole world when there is NO space. 'No space' is to break down oppo' skills & it works. both ways.

This is a good year for us if we get 2 picks in the top 5.

Next year we'll add Toumpas, Trengove, Hogan and a few quality kids - hopefully a couple top picks.

Also, improvement from Salem, Kennedy-Harris, Kent and Viney.

We'll be a VERY promising side next year.

GWS and Gold Coast would be better teams with about 6 (3 in the team, 3 pushing for spots) mature depth players. In return each one of those sides could give 1 good young player to each of he bottom 12 teams.

As long as every team has a couple of A graders, some mature players who are above average, some decent young players and enough role players to field most of a side each week the comp is at a healthy place. If the comp is healthy then the standard doesn't matter so much.

If the bottom team goes 6-16 with a percentage of 70 and the top team goes 16-6 with a percentage no more than 140 then we have a reasonable comp. We aren't too far off that.
