Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Dangerfield, Fyfe and any of those massive profile players...

So...if anyone thinks we have a problem with disposal and decision making from defence now then Rance would drive us all crazy. Can't deny his courage to hit the contest but it is a real raffle when has the ball in his hands.

Let's just be clear I was being sarcastic, with that whole thing about "wouldn't touch while wearing a HAZMAT suit".

I'm really anxious to be clear about this! Rance is a poor man's Tom McDonald, too loose as a defender and too wonky on the counterattack.

I'll try another one; "Collingwood might be willing to give up Jarryd Blair for a first-round pick"

I believe all transactions will be conducted electronically.

I recall Trengove "slinging" Danger some years ago now. Imagine if we had Roos back then? Perhaps Trengove would be regarded as an elite mid? The transformation with Dunn and Pederson is massive

wrong, proof is going for shuey and rockcliff last year. I'm sick of hearing all this [censored] about roos not bringing in star players it not how he rolls ect... did it ever occur to any of you nipwits that he inherited a sydney team, which had adam goodes (won the brownlow that year) oloughlin, okeefe. stuey maxfield, barry hall, the boltons and kirk and thats just to name a few, you don't need to be throwing the $$ at big names when you have plenty already.

I'm sure its nitwits, not nipwits...lol

The chance of anyone getting Dangerfield or Fyfe yet along us is very very small.

Doesn't mean you don't chuck an offer in and see how it goes but the main targets should possibly be smaller ones. They are probably better value anyway!

Landing a Josh Kennedy for a third round pick or whatever it was then watching him turn in to a superstar is the ultimate aim.

They other factor is availability. Not every year will there be the right player available. Sydney have great success often taking a cheap player to put in a role (like a Derickx, Laidler, Ted Richards etc). They don't trade for class players like Mumford, Shaw, Kennedy every year.

Hahahahahahahaha

Amazing.

Don't get me wrong. He is a good player, but he isn't a champion, at this stage, and for that type of money you'd want someone who is.

It baffles me when people keep calling him a champion. Have they seen any Adelaide game this season? Against Carlton with minutes left he plays on and snaps from a set shot 30m out, misses and they lost by 3 points!

Roos wants 'two class mids' over the next trade and FA periods.

(Who doesn't)

But he is going to have to pay for them in more ways than one - to think that there will be another Tyson out there to go from a 20 game player to a 'class midfielder' is a tad ambitious.

I think if Roos had the ability to get Dangerfield or Fyfe he would get them - baulking at someone's wage is ridiculous in the modern game.

I agree, its ridiculous

he got Barry Hall to the Swans when he was on the verge of stardom at St Kilda, people seem to forget that

Hall finished at the Saints in 2001 and played for the Swans from 2002 to around 2008 or thereabouts. Rocket Eade was sacked as coach of the Swans during the 2002 season when Plough was contracted to take over in 2003.

Roosy was caretaker coach during that and due to player & people power he got the full time gig from 2003 onwards taking them to a Prelim in his first full year

I gotta say that Dangerfield and Fyfe excite me less than pretty much anyone in say the Sydney midfield. I wouldn't say no to either coming, obviously. Dangerfield's a greater impact player than Fyfe, but I'd much prefer one of the gut-running Sydney mids.

Whilst i dont believe well get either. Both are in the top 10 players in the AFL.

Both can break packs, win ball, take big marks and run. Dangerfield has a rare ability to burst though packs.

Dont agree.. both are much better than anyone in the Sydney midfield

Fair enough, JVFP. Each to their own.

I wouldn't be complaining with any.... although I always ask at what price is too much?

On the Sydney front I genuinely believe at either the end of this year or the next they will lose a big named midfielder. It might be Jack, it may be Kennedey or Hannebery or even the more likely Mitchell. But something or more specifically someone will have to give sooner or later with regards to their overstretched salary cap.

Let's just hope Roos whispers in one of his old students ears offering them a better wage down here in the Red and Blue.

In regards to some of you who think we will go chasing down big players at the end of the year.

It is not in the Roos formula to buy a player for over a million a year. It is very likely we will bring in a few players, but i am very very doubtful it will be Dangerfield or Fyfe. I would love these players as much as anyone, but as soon as Melbourne supporters get out of fairy land, thinking we we could get them, the sooner we can actually focus on who we might actually get.

Now, saying "oh, but we didnt expect to get Tyson", doesnt cut it. Tyson was not a household name and a much much easier target. Those are the targets, once again that we should be getting.

It is more likely we spend half of that on someone like Mckay, Mundy or somebody else. We may even just stick to the draft.

But it is very likely that Melbourne will not have Fyfe or Dangerfield in red and blue next year, and years to come.

Also, potentially we will look at GWS young players and try get them.

Now. once again. I will say. I would love a massive profile player of the calibre of Gibbs, Fyfe or Dangerfield, but it ail not happen and our culture will be better for it. To not have so much focus on bringing in someone as the "messiah".

I would love people to challenge me on what they think, it will be interesting to see. But this is my honest opinion.

more or less stated the obvious lol

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
