Overrated.  Pretty sure I said as such as he was gifted his AA medal.

Hawthorn in their prime covered for his deplorable decision-making and execution.

Amazing how many B graders like Breust and Mitch Duncan  and C graders like Josh Caddy look amazing to simpletons with elite talent around them.

Robert Walls's view that champions need to have premiership medallions is neanderthalic in thinking.  Give me a Robert Flower in a pathetic side anyday.

I don't know who is a bigger outside reciever Bruest or Chris Mayne . Both played in good teams but cannot get near it when asked to win own ball!

It was directed at me, so obviously me.

Next time just don't bother agreeing if you have to preface your comment.  Not just with me, anyone.  If you're posting to agree then just agree.  Or don't bother at all.

I've highlighted your particular comment, but I see it quite often.

So arrogant, get off your high horse mate

On another note, Jeremy Howe would be a reasonably handy addition to our defensive unit right now. I wasn't sad to see him leave, and he apparently made it clear he wasn't interested in playing down back for us, but I have to admit that he was tracking okay down there and BenKen hasn't especially set the world alight. Apologies in advance for any potential derailment. Frawley - boo.

Howe is playing at Collingwood exactly as he did at Melbourne in 2015. His lack of defensive accountability is shocking and beyond being an intercept marker he is shockingly shallow. Not a "dumb" footballer and makes some smart decisions, but I think his personality was shown the door more than anything, not so much his skillset. I never took him for being much of a "team player".

Had a funny convo with Bro'n'law over weekend ( he ex pie player to boot , currently coaching ) . Whilst sipping suds and watching the Aints Pies game many others were oohing about dear Jeremy  ( family reunion weekend..most are Filth )

Said bro , the more footy learned one inquired why I didn't rate wonder boy, why i was glad to see him elsewhere. My answers all played out before us ( and after game )

He's a selfish player who revels in his moments of flight. Has little to no offensive ability ( that does anything of use ). Is a constant 50/50 turnover merchant.

His comments after the game show his allegiances ;) (to Howe )

Has tickets on self ( should be punched ^_^ )

These sound like glowing endorsements compared to the commentary our defenders attract on here. Except Joel Smith. He's currently an automatic inclusion and sorely missed.

Don't always agree with you, but this is spot on.

We really need a post of the week contest.

Chip was weighing up his options and didn't buy in immediately. I always thought Roos moved on from Chip and prepared for life after Frawley. As a professional footballer Chip made a commercial decision and may have realised the coaches were happy with the draft pick compensation they would get. I don't blame him for that and wish him well. If he wanted to return (he is a good mate of Max) then it would be up to the club to get him back. Remember Croad leaving Hawthorn for Free (I think Hodge was the draft pick they got) and returning later to play in a premiership. I doubt very much this would happen but stranger things have and if it did I would trust the team at Melbourne to assess he was needed.

Jeremy is different, he wanted to play up forward and Buck's promised him that. It didn't take them long to realise that, it doesn't work, and Jeremy is exactly where he was with us, as an intercept mark down back. I suspect Roos moved on from Jeremy too and didn't think him made of the right stuff.

Bit off topic, but Hawthorn havent won a game for 8 months....just saying.

I agree there, I think Chip was gently guided to the door with a "do you really want to leave, oh well then" and I doubt that they were really upset when Howe left either.

Roos affectionately knew them as the beer snake boys. (Boxing Day Test)

Chip must currently have an awfully familiar sinking feeling in his gut as he tilts his head back to watch the ball sail high through the other team's goal. Still he did win a flag and become a Premiership player.

Somewhat ironic . A Demon does a Faustian deal then finds himself in Hell.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
