No that was a myth created on Demonland to justify certain postings, that's in the past, look forward to the QB

It's not a myth.

Oh you mean Magner the guy who didn't have an axe to grind, just like Moloney, give it a rest, move on, the same Magner who wallowed in self satisfaction when Neeld was axed, sank in my estimation from that moment on

Wtf Saty fair dinkum mate you said it was a myth from demonland that players were getting mixed mesgs from coaches. I confirmed to you that James Magner said after last year he was getting mixed feedback from the coaches. You are seriously so delusional even im getting delusionald replying back to you. The truth hurts you are to weak to cop it on the chin.

The result is players were getting mixed messages. Wasn't a demonland myth like your trying to dribble out to cover your ass.

Be sure never to say that to his face, he will deck you apparently.

How can something be 'in the past' and be a myth that didn't happen?

It's like saying Game of Thrones is a Fantasy/Period piece.

Joffrey was real! You take that back!

I'm glad he wasn't.

Wahey! Digression!

Don't hold that against Magner. A lot of us "wallowed in self satisfaction (and relief) when Neeld was axed"

Magner is doing well at his new AFL club

Same with Gysberts

Morton going well too

Oh wait......

Manger got shafted. He was brought in to be an inside ball-winner with heaps of grunt. He came into the side and did that job exactly as advertised, and for two or three rounds he was notching up 30-odd possessions playing in the guts. Then for some reason they decided to start shifting him into other roles. We got him to win inside ball, so let's try him as a tagger. How about as a half-forward? Nope, obviously can't play so we'll drop him. He would have been fine if they'd just left him in the middle to do what he does best.

As good as he went early, he was still limited.

Grunt alone isn't enough in today's game.

^^^

I agree with all of the past three re Magner

He did provide some of what was needed and yet inexplicably someone tried to make him what he wasn't.

Reminds me a bitif how ND tried and failed to change Lamb who generally did his job pretty well most of the time on the bigger forwards into a runner, ending up nowhere at all. IIRC it was in reaction to him being toweled up once by The Dive Bomber, yet few at the time were not.

But we digress - Salem is exciting!! :-))

Does he also kick well on his non-preferred? I haven't seen the PA game and I can't recall having seen him use his right foot in the games I've seen.

Very good with his right (when he uses it).

I didn't believe what Magner said, is that ok with you, because I didn't hear it from most of the other players, I did hear it from a couple, but they also weren't getting regular games, amazing how that can colour your opinion of coaches................. he had sour grapes, which bit don't you get, same as Moloney

Why if I have a differing opinion to the bleaters, yourself included, on here, am i delusional, just because you say it, it doesn't mean it was right, I am entitled to my opinion, if you don't like what I type, quite easy, don't read it and don't reply, although you and a couple of others don't seem to be able to help yourselves

Going back to Salem, he has a lot of natural talent, being harnessed correctly, he is two footed, but obviously prefers the left, same as Viney

Posters on here seem to agree that making Jordie McKenzie more rounded by dropping him and getting him to perform other roles is ok, Magner different was he?

There is a very large difference IMO.

They have asked McKenzie to not only stop but also get more of the footy and kick a few more goals ( paraphrasing what you reported earlier). The reports on McKenzie and where he has been playing at Casey - they are not changing his role - just asking him to do more in the role that suits him best. I would think that they would like him to be more in the Daniel Cross mould - even though Cross isnt kicking goals - he stopping his opponent and causing damage of his own by getting plenty of the ball.

They took Magner who was an onballer with grunt ( and yes - a little slow and with average disposal) and saw some success early on and then played him as a defensive forward. A rather large change in role.

Not sure how this thread become about Neeld and Magner..

Saty, you're just so... misguided.

The players know you repeat the majority of what is said - what makes you think they'd be honest with you about the coaching dept?

Not only a good way to get in their bad books, but honestly, if I were a player, I wouldn't tell a fanboy like you anything, unless I was singing straight from the club's hymn book.

Using your same logic, is it no coincidence the players who did support the coaching dept were favoured over others? The ones who weren't getting a game maybe had no incentive to keep their cards close to their chest and not tell the truth?

Shock horror.

You can have your opinion, but FCS open your eyes!

That kick to Bail was something special, especially the way he trapped and controlled the awkward incoming ball before hand

Strength, balance, amazing vision, incredible skill

Havent seen a kick that sublime this season by any player from any club

Masten for West Coast had some amazing kicks against Collingwood.

Considering other seasons, and just the Dees, I'd say Salem's kick is similar to Aaron Davey... definitely no Ben Holland

Oh good we have yet another new sheriff walking through the bat wing doors of the Demonland saloon

How do you know what I do, standing next to me are you, I think not, but hey if you want to speil that feel free, I ask permission to quote old chap, the polite thing to do, otherwise all you are doing is spreading untruths and rumours (you can recognise them, can you)

Not a 'fanboy' as you so eloquently put it, just chat to the players, talk to them about footy like they are human beings, the one thing they do know is that I don't bag them

I also get told things I keep to myself, because I am told to, I got told quite a few things last year but was asked not to share

Magner had an axe to grind similar to Moloney before him, of course he is going to be negative, similar to my attitude towards some of the 'courageous' decisions being made by management where I work now, but when somebody asks me a question they know my answer is going to be tainted by the experience I am going through now....common sense....ah now I see the problem

Fingers crossed one of the things you were told to keep to yourself is both Chip and Tommy Mac are both staying haha

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
