GAME DAY - ROUND THREE

Featured Replies

LYNDEN DUNN! who would have thunk it!

Hoo Fricken ray!!!! Dunney boy. Can't question his committment and versatility in this team in last 12 months.

Why did we sign Evans for three years?

Who's a worse kick of the ball - Evans or Nicholson?

Why is Evans even playing?

Not watching it, but cut him a bit of slack. First AFL games for ??? Nearly a year. There are worse performers........surely.

Watts is no good around the ball in these conditions, put him out of the square for the rest of the day

She shanked a kick under no pressure and killed any momentum Melbourne had. It was terrible.

Look in board frawley

How many times have we kicked it out of bounds on the full? Just happened again, must be at least the fourth time (in a half of football).

Half this team is not AFL standard with their disposal.

FWIW - 7 of the top 8 DT stats are GW$ players...and no prize for guessing our contributor: monoccular Jones.

I didn't realise he was playing.

What was Terlich doing there? He's spare man and he just let the GWS guy go.

The way I look at it, we have 12 AFL standard players, and 5 of them aren't playing.

Could we go into half time only a goal down?

Who's a worse kick of the ball - Evans or Nicholson?

Up to Round 17 last season

Disposal Efficiency

Evans 68.5%

Nicholson 65.6%

AFL Average for 2013 (excluding us) was approx 70.8%

I'd drop Watts next week if he keeps going the way he is.

No hunger at all.

Must be your 57th post bagging Watts in this thread. Give it a rest.

It's pissing with rain and we are bagging skill level as well. Too many have no idea on here.

He's been one of Melbourne's best today.

I suppose he has been, but I just loved the description of the kick.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
