Mundy will be expecting good coin and IMO would not be worth it taking his age into account and where we are at, Matt Rosa if he came cheaply maybe worth a look or David Mckay. Lachie Hansen looked good in the second half of last season and if he continues that improvement could be well worth a shot.

Otherwise nobody really who is in the right age bracket

The more apt question is "do you think any of these players would come".

Rosa I haven't seen play much, but Mackay I'd be really happy with, Hansen would be good back up if we lost Frawley

Roos and the football recruitment department will have to play the recruitment of free agency strategically at the end of the year. If the likes of Frawley departs and we recruit someone like Mundy we will miss out on a compensation draft pick as the Afl will deem it as fair. Would we want to recruit a free agent in a high age bracket and possibly miss out on a draft pick that will come after our first pick at seasons end?

I think I'd spew if we took more draft picks. Can't handle draft comparisons and what ifs any longer.

I honestly don't think we'll lose Frawley, and the compensation pick for Mundy wouldn't be too much because of his age, but I would honestly prefer Mackay, or Hansen.

I actually reckon Ryan Okeefe is one, Vic boy, played under Roos, seemingly out of favour with the swans but he is still playing good footy and i reckon Roos will try and grab him for a year or two

I definitely see RO'K as the first player on Roosy's list of 2015 pickups. Especially given all the drama happening behind the scenes with the Swans, he's clearly out of favour due to his seeming disapproval of the Buddy deal.

He would be another Daniel Cross type figure at the club, and I think Roos would have a leg up on other Victorian clubs simply due to their history. Plus heading into retirement, wouldn't be a bad thing to be back home (assuming he isn't settled in Sydney with family).

If last week is anything to go by and the reports are correct ROK is done and has lost a yard

I reckon he'd still be handy in a forward pocket.

Hard to believe he could lose that much between seasons. Only a few years ago he was a match winner.

If you are in your 30's it can happen very quickly and a few years is massive. Don't forget how quickly the aging Lions team came to a screaming holt after the 4 GF'S & 3 Premierships in the early 00's

Makes you wonder how long Crossy can go for. All this talk lately of Fletcher turning 40 next year gave me high hopes that Cross could stick in our best 22 for far longer than anyone expected.

I might need a dose of reality there.

Not sure i'd go after Mundy, I reckon i'd be looking at Trading to be the answer, we should have another top 5 pick so another Tyson-like trade, i reckon that young fellow from the Giants who wants back to victoria might be a decent target

And Hansen would be good as a key forward when he's needed

Which may be never.

It'll be hard to get Giants players in a year or two if they start rapidly ascending the ladder. They still have the COLA... err, "expansion allowance" to keep their best players from flying home.

We might be able to find more Viv Michie type players; good footy smarts but not good enough to crack an elite team's best 22. Happy to leave with the promise of playing more AFL in another team.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
