Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'll say this:

For a bloke that it seemed a lot of people wanted traded, due to their paranoia he would bolt at the first opportunity, as he hasn't yet signed a contract extension... it's good to see James Frawley showing the commitment of attending preseason training well before he is required to, when others with the same requirements, but with far more that they need to prove, having not yet attended.

Gotta love the bloke, and I'd say anyone who claims his declarations of love for the club in recent times are a smokescreen, are clearly poor judges of character.

I bet he stays with the MFC his whole career.

Being a one club player is a very special thing (regardless of how much success you do or don't have), and his uncle would know as well as anyone.

Chip just strikes me as a very loyal man.

Wrong. Loyalty is just about gone out the door these days.

I know for a fact Chip was really disgruntle at the club this year, that at times he was regretting signing that 4 year deal. He wanted out straight away and his uncle encouraged him aswell as he thought he wasn't gonna get much out of his football playing with us.

Things have changed now that Roos is on board BUT if we don't improve on field next year its Bye Bye Frawley. Gold Coast and Hawthorn were into him big time during the year about a possible move.

Chip might strike you as a loyal man but we all thought the same about Moloney, Rivers, Scully, Sylvia the list goes on...

Footy these days is all about success and business. Someone like Frawley is getting very impatient having been at the club and not one finals experience.

We must improve on field next year..

And what happens then?

nothing..life goes on..

Christ the way everyone goes on about this player or that ... its hilarious.

Hawks lose Buddy...did they fold ?

its about a team..not any individual. The TEAM has to work. We've spent yonks trying to get this player or some other as our saviour ...all for what..sfa !!

The days of me investing emotionally in one player are long gone. Love em all in a Dees jumper and know that every one of them could be of somewhere else next season

We fold.

Fold?

Do you really think that? Or are you just being dramatic?

This is what will happen: Frawley signs with another club, we either take the Pick 4 on offer as compensation for a RFA, or we attempt to trade him to that club.

We would most likely take the Pick 4.

That's it. That's the extent of it. The club doesn't fold, it loses a good player and we move on. Because good clubs don't let a player become bigger than the club the way you suggest.

And what happens if the AFL take away the compo picks for next season and beyond?

I saw a group of 15 or so players (not Dunn or Chip) doing repeat sprints up the Anderson St Hill.

Not sure how many they did as I was only there for a couple, but they looked like they'd been going for a while when I got there and were still going when I left.

McDonald leading all of them with Toumpas very hot on his heels, Trenners not far behind him and Jack Watts really putting in, consistently in the next group.

Spencer, Fitzy and Pederson were lagging behind and Westrupp was being beaten by several of the coaches.

Interestingly Roos was doing his own sprints but setting off well before the players and being beaten to the top by some.

Not a bad tune up pre-Christmas.

Then we don't get Pick 4. Boo hoo.

Oh, and this talk about removing compensation has been directed around UFA - not RFA.

I can see the argument for UFA - they are players with 10 years service, or periphery players (paid outside the top 10 players) after 8 years service.

RFA are 8 year players in their prime and in the top 10 (paid) players at a club.

It's a different story and is not apart of the discussion when people are talking about removing compensation picks.

The fact that we got ND23 (and with that Vince) for Sylvia is a joke of excellent happenstance. I don't blame anyone for not believing me when I was saying he would bring that for 6 months before it happened - it was ridiculous good fortune.

Rode past quickly. Boys are now on the footy oval at Gosch's.

Actually they were using the pies former ground, and the usual rugby/soccer pitch. The latter had the rehab group on it (Tyson, Hogan, Tappscott) and the senior players easing themselves in (Jamar, jones , garland, Mckenzie). The rest were doing kicking drills on Goshes Paddock proper, before they broke to do time trials up the hill in Anderson Street by the Tan, and then they did a time trial around the tan. The rehab group continued their running and some kicking practice.

Hope this helps.

Got this from bigfooty.

Well... these are my notes from training

Boys started at 9:00 apparently which took me by surprise when I found out. Therefore missed around half an hour (it was scheduled to start at 9:30!!!)

The group seems to be split in two. One group, with Spencer, Hogan, McDonald, Jamar, Garland, Viney, Tapscott, Byrnes, Evans, McKenzie, Michie, Howe, Vince working on fitness near the Victory boys.

The rest working on quick ball movement - Watts' pressure and chasing in this drill excellent!

Roosy getting a tad more vocal with every session.

Toumpas once again doing well. Found space in this drill which is done in a very small radius, plus laying shepherds at will.

Same drill afterwards but altered.

Fitzy still fairly uncoordinated, few handballs missing the target.

Toump not afraid to take opponents on, breaking the lines in this drill.

Extra man added on defensive side, creating more pressure.

Handball drills followed.

Clark is steadily getting fitter.

Skills clean throughout handball drills, no one screwed up a handball.

Kicking inside 50/rebound 50 focus. Still a few kicking errors.

Toump just doesn't miss a target. Hit every kick on a teammate's chest. Signs look promising. Hoping he delivers given I seem to talk him up a bit.

Matt Jones using the ball very well.

Watts also kicking beautifully, like Toump, he is hitting them lace out.

Clisby and Terlich not using the ball particularly well - Terlich shanked his first kick over the fence!

Fitzy clunking marks. With Clark IMO still a little bit behind could Fitzy start in round one?

Main group went off, presumably to do a running drill. (possibly running the Tan - or hill work, cannot confirm)

Rehab group running 400s I think. Evans the pick if the group, Clark still a fair way back. Gapped by the others.

Bernie Vince running with the rehab group. Dom Tyson here too.

Russian doing ruckwork with... Allison? Huh?

Frawley and Dunn still loitering around before they start on Monday.

Gawn and Kent popped in to Edwin's (they didn't train) and said g'day also.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
