Do you think we will have co captains again?

The first thing that Co captains raises in my mind is " someone could not make a decision on which player to pick"!

My gut feel tells me one captain next year and it is not either of the 2013 models.

Does that make it CG?

I'd say it's more likely than unlikely, OD. I know I'm not putting a lot on the line with that statement, but the naming of co-captains at Sydney was probably enacted for a multitude of reasons, rather than the club being undecided on who to pick.

I agree with the notion we will return to some form of regular programming. One captain, competitive team...playing football... Should be novel for us :)

Because you'll never learn if you don't look to the past. Most players can learn a thing or two by having a look at how they went in 2013.

Yes I do.

I prefer that model and think the benefits go beyond "sharing the load."

Ideally, I think Trengove would prefer the weight to be lifted, so keep him in the leadership group, but co-captains of Grimes, Jones & Garland.

I think that's a good result.

Three!

My God here I am praying for one.

Not sure why you think having three captains is a good result, in fact I have no idea why.

No idea why you're so dead set against any more than 1.

I think 2 or 3 co-captains is the best model.

Ok I guess we just have varying views on the "multiple " captains idea.

Bump.

The bloke is at it again: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-01-31/garland-focuses-on-44th-player

As a part of my role in the leadership group, I’ll be making sure that the 44th player isn’t forgotten about. We have 44 blokes on the list and everyone is equally as important.

I love this.

Maia Westrupp would make 45 but splitting hairs can be a waste of time.

Our 4 rookies may get paid less and have less opportunities and security but they should be treated as equals in a well run club.

I've got a lotta love for Colin Garland and it just keeps growing.

This is the epitome of the culture Roos fostered at Sydney.

We're in good hands going forward.

He's a rare individual these days and a great leader and clubman.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
