No, but neither is Magner for that matter.

Maybe not but they have treated him appallingly and it wouldn't hurt to give him a game or two to at least show other recruiters at other clubs what he's capable of.

Neither will be at the club next year, but Magner has at least put in the time and deserves a bit better than this. Perhaps they don't want to play him because he may embarrass them.

Why is Watts playing. I thought he was being made to understand.

Watts has been selected at centre half forward. Does Betfair run a book on how many minutes in before he is thrown down back? I am betting he'll be on the move after the Crows have the first 4 on the board, that should take about 6 or 7 minutes on our current form.

Taggs kicks 5... No game?

I don't get it either. In addition , Davis ( a bloke with a bit of grunt)after two games for a head dropper.

Interesting no comments since thread was posted at 10.28

6.5 hours later no interest.

Not sure why I am surprised as I have almost no interest in the game either.

After looking at the team od, I doubt I'll be getting up at 5.30am to listen to it.

I agree, I wasn't having a go, it's just sad that we would consider either of them as a realistic part of our future. Magner's handling in the second part of the year has been quite perplexing.

The fact that he didn't get a call-up when Viney went down, or even come in to give M. Jones a rest when the latter has clearly been a bit flat makes his continued non-selection hardly a surprise.

Roll on 2014, I suppose. ..

Blease and Byrnes play half forward with stints on the ball. This is what position Rodan plays. Manger is a congestion player. Craig is going for team balance. I thought Gawn was stiff but maybe they think it best he and Spencer both ruck full games fir their development rather than Gawn sit in the gial square majority of the game.

I find it staggering that Taggert could not get a game in this team. Still, like Fitzpatrick, he needs to make it impossible to be ignored with a bog against Box Hill

Why the hell put in Pedersen over Davis at this stage, and play Rodan now over Magner or even Taggert or Barry? What the hell does Rodan and Pedersen bring to the team especially this late in the season? Maybe our next coach will have a clue about team selection

Yes I'm sure Neil Craig will no longer be considered for the coaching role because Demonland members disagree with his team selections.

I was looking forwards to seeing Magner and Taggert in too but the fact is that we don't really know what goes on inside the club, he does so I'd be backing him to be making a much better informed decision than anyone on here.

Time for Taggert I'm not interested in Rodan and Bail put a kid in who can kick the ball. What a BS selection.

Sometimes I hate this club and the idiotic decisions they make, I used to think they knew what they were doing.

Also because he isn't a very good coach

I don't think the club has made an informed decision for 7 or 8 years, the results speak for themselves.

We couldn't have done a worse job of recruiting or coach selection or team selection. The club and its informed decisions have left us in the position we are in.

Not having a go at you but at the club.

I don't understand Pedersen over Davis. That's a pretty poor call I think. With Frawley back you'd expect Pedersen to be played forward, a position he's struggled in all year. That's poor team selection, IMO.

I also don't agree with Rodan over Magner. Yes, Magner's a clearance player and Byrnes/Blease play different roles, but Rodan's not in form. To me, it's improper to be bringing players in when they're not in form, especially when the delineation between their roles is so slight. I'd have rewarded Magner's effort and at the very least given him his last chance to convince us that he should stay.

Wow, it looks like some unbelievably poor decisions.

Pederson and Rodan again. I just don't get this. What is the point?

No Taggert. It looks like he isn't going to get a chance to show his wares.

Davis gets dropped.

I have no emotional investment left, and now we get this. Bored and p****ed off.

A bloke who has yard defence all year at Casey who was then played as a forward the last 2 weeks?!

I simple want this season to end and don't care who is selected.

Lost interest in the games weeks ago and now more interested in what will happen next season.

I think it's a good idea to allow Spencer to be our main ruckman for the entire game. Let him run it out, see how he holds up and performs, did so with Fitzpatrick and turned out to be a better player than we were expecting.

If Spencer goes down injured in the first 5 mins, who rucks?

Posted

I am becoming more and more convinced that Craig is not the man for the job. His lacks tactical awareness during games and his selections are mind-boggling at times. Davis, after a year of great form at Casey has been given two games playing out of position and then dropped again. Magner gets 51 touches and isn't played. Taggert gets five goals and can't get a shot. Meanwhile he's still wasting everyone's time with Pedersen. Surely if he's at all serious about getting the job he should be rewarding the players who produce and seeing if they can do it at the top level?

Unfortunately Perdeson, but does it matter? Unlikely to win the game plus not in the finals, might as well get full game time into Spencer provided he goes unscathed and see his return.

FB: Dunn Frawley Garland

HB: M. Jones McDonald Terlich

C: Toumpas Jones Trengove

HF: Kent Dawes Davey

FF: Howe Pedersen Tapscott

Foll: Spencer Viney McKenzie

S: Rodan

Shame to see Jimmy T named [not that he doesn't deserve it]. Doesn't this disqualify him from the Casey finals?

Looks like it is Pederson! I would have had Gawn in for Fitzy as backup ruck. Magner instead of Rodan to pump out a few hard get handballs to Jimmy T. And I would thrown Davis down back just to see if he can play the actual role we have groomed him to do for nearly 3 seasons. With Frawley, Davis and Garland down back you can then leave Watts at CHF for more than a quarter and hopefully build up his trade value.

Pedersen and Rodan in is absolutely pointless

Not only are they not part of the future but they are both certified spuds

how the hell did Taggert not selected for his debut?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
