If Clisby gets more weeks than C. Brown then...

Featured Replies

Similar to my doomed if Spencer gets more weeks than Simpkin thread I'm buttering up again.

Clisby at one staged was wrestling with his opponent and suplexed some GC clown and dislocated his shoulder. It was a great display of aggression and something I'd like to see more of. I'm not convinced it was a reportable offense.

On the other hand after being legitimately tackled the d bag that is Campbell Brown threw out a stray leg right into James Strauss' face and broke his nose. Tony Shaw (who employed him FFS) could see nothing more than an accident but to anyone not born yesterday if you throw a leg into a blokes fact that's pretty clear cut.

Unfortunately the MRP are going about as well as the DRS but we wait with baited breath.

Thoughts?

I didn't know Strauss broke his nose - he was doing rather well until that "incident"

On the MFC website it says Reports: none?

Steven King on Jeff White. Kicked him in the head, broke his face. No report. Brown won't be cited.

One bad decision is now justification for another. Watch the Brown incident. He makes an (AFL buzz word) double movement. Has to be negligent, high contact, medium impact rough conduct.

U wait for the match review.

Strauss will get charged for putting his head in front of the "duckers" foot ie reckless conduct!

NOTHING would surprise me after the season we have had.

I don't disagree that he should be cited, but you need to bear history in mind. We have repeatedly seen that there is a get out of jail free card when you injure a Melbourne player. Look at Col Sylvia as a case-study. He's been taken out by blatantly illegal acts during the pre-season several times, and there has never been a charge laid against the people who did it. For whatever reason, there just seems to be a bit more leniency for players who do this sort of thing to Melbourne.

Unfortunately because of where we are as a club opposition players treat us with contempt.

FCS the season is shot. Just get some bloody 'Grinter' into us and clean up some of these snipers eg. Campbell Brown, Sam Mitchell, Daniel Merrett etc. I'm not suggesting blatant acts of violence, just hard, tough, old school footy.

I normally wouldn't condone this sort of action but really, what have we got to lose? Certainly not respect.....

I don't think Clisby will go.

Sexton's shoulder came out when he tried to push himself up off the ground, after the scuffle had moved away from him.

Brown definitely kicked Strauss in the head, a low act.

Yep, when it happened in real time I thought it looked accidental but then the replay clearly showed Brown extending his leg with force at Strauss' face. He's always been a dirty little [censored] of a player.

Well McVeigh just showed how bright he is. Declared C.Brown innocent. Twerp.

He's using his own facial demolition of his Captain, "Full Responsibility" Hird, by inadvertent application of knee at great speed as a precedent.

Reckon he's more of a drongo than a twerp.

That was a claassic moment and showed how flawed the reporting system is.

Absolutely. He should get 4 weeks for it.

Instead he won't even be reported.

He also turned and slipped the elbow into trenners face in the first quarter, he really is a dirty player

Campbell Brown is a (deleted) (deleted) (deleted) (deleted). And that's his good points.

If he's guilty, which I believe he is, then that should be it for Brown. Kicking someone in the head with the bottom of your boot?

Life for me.

A low act. He should be rubbed out for the rest of the year. An absolute turd.

I re ran the incident about 10 times and I am pretty convinced it was deliberate. He looks and sees Strauss and then kicks upwards and connects with his face.

I wasn' t shocked as I regard Brown as a filthy player. He would be in good company with Fletcher who should also go this week for a late hit.

Do you know what stage of the game it was, so I can watch it?

Cheers

Cambell Brown is guilty of kicking its as simple as that. Tony Shaw and Alastair Lynch should be cited for acting as if it was just an errant foot.

Give me Grinter. Not just now but always.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
