Dunn was below AFL standard Saturday night and should be dropped.

you are just trying to try and get a response

Dunn was definitely at an afl level, and played almost his best game for the year.

- Neeld had the team playing with a very defensive mindset, which has had us chasing the opposition around all year and not getting enough of the ball in our own hands. Whereas Craig has encouraged a more attacking style of play, i.e. get the ball and keep it off them.

I have been saying that all year - our huge disposal differentials were hurting us offensively and defensively - offensive in that we couldn't retain possession and defensively in the sense that the less you have of the ball, the more the opposition has it.

Disposal stats are not the be all and end all but the differentials we were producing were extraordinarily large and were not sustainable.

Will be interesting to see how we go in trying to retain possession more against two top sides in the next two weeks.

Jack didn't say that, it was paraphrased, I put exactly what he said

In reality Jack has said nothing we didnt already know. Neeld had gone too far on the negativity and stymied what footy flair any player has/had. Resulting in poor decisions or sometimes just late one.

Kennedy had it in one...DO...dont think, the minute you have to stop and think youre gone. Everything on a footy field ought to be second nature.

What you wrote and what the OP wrote give the exact same message.

Why was he below standard?....for the last quarter?....what was his role on Saturday?

He did play his best game but when one on one with Cordy and the other big fellas he was killed. Not really through his own fault though as he was giving away about 3 or 4 inches.

Out of interest I wonder if the stint under Neeld with so much focus on defense, structures and the press will actually be hugely important going forward?

We knew we had a list that could attack, and struggled with defence. We spend 18 months doing nothing but defence and then the new coach (Craig) says go and attack, but the defensive discipline should remain.

We struggled on Saturday under an avalanche but we held on in the end and fitness was obviously an issue. I can't help but think the squad might be much better prepared and balanced as a result of the two extremes in choosing style and have plan. It may not be the ideal way to learn these things but the end result could be the same regardless.

I still think we are a class midfielder lacking though.

Let's see how they go against the Swans.

The mids and backs will be tested. I am confident the backs can run the transition fast enough when given the freedom to.

Keep it under 8 goals and it will be a massive win and improvement for the team. The Swans are a relentlessly disciplined side. They must challenge the Swans' defence constantly for four quarters.

If you keep going to the well you'll find water, etc etc.

Thought that might be what you need to do, feel the urge to criticise did we, pointing out that the quote was paraphrased that is all, go with the 'factual' statement, bit hard on here sometimes I know, but prefer, if you are one of the few regular readers of my posts, you will know that

Dunn played his role, seems to me some people want change for change sake, and Dunn is an easy target, think perhaps if Grimes comes back in, it will be at the expense of Byrnes

We all see the game differently, but given the amount of posters calling for Dunn to be dropped in the "Changes vds Sydney" thread, it looks like you both are in the minority.

I am normally a fan of Dunn, but Saturday was a poor performance.

Yeah we got it the first time, you sat that there and scribbled it down word for word to let us all know what was exactly said, bravo.

The OP just typed from memory, and conveyed the exact point that Trengove was making, without all the diplomatic bs.

You don't need to keep telling everyone your quote was verbatim, we get it, we get it.

Nah, he just copy and pasted from an article that's been put up on the AFL website.

Then perhaps captain factual should credit his source by providing a link.

Come on mate, it's clear that people don't want change for change sake but rather because we are terrible. Dunn is a target because he is not a very good football player, as are many in the side.

It is factual, I don't need to provide a link, as you can't link the chinese whispers that appear on here, if you must nitpick, try picking on some of the whispers instead

Anyway, as all posters have seen, if you are going to quote, quote verbatim

No sorry, been on this board too long to accept that, one person says "Dunn is crap", and quite a few jump onboard, don't want to be seen to be different or not following the trend, one of the more sad things that is happening in modern society, one of the reasons everybody thinks Reality Television is real

The wind has changed, read some of the posts towards the end of last season....along the lines of "well bugger me, if Dunn hasn't surprised me, and resurrected his career", unfortunately along with Nicho has now got the target back, and to think everybody thought Fitzpatrick was a dud as well, surprised no calls for him to be dropped, what's wrong proved people wrong AGAIN

FWIW I thought he played ok - a bit stiff on one occasion when the ball should have got oob but didn't and we paid the price. Have a look on you he has pklayed on in the past fortnight - given away inches on both occasions - went to Kosi when Pederson coudln;t lay a feather duster on him and quietened him down, and did well IMHO last week as well. He is certainly part of our best team, or would you go back to Pederson. Spare me
